Reform

Could even be a little bit of smoke and daggers?

Make it seem that musk won't donate to reform now to stop labour putting a stop to it?

Sure who knows

With Mandleson now very much firmly in the middle of the US/UK 'special' relationship, anything is possible. Cannot shake the notion that the Prince of Darkness is up to his usual tricks.

My own, admittedly tin-foil hatted, take is that this is potentially part of wider move against Starmer by elements of the UK Deep State who see him as not being up to the job. Rile up the masses about grooming gangs, just prior to the Southport trial due to start and the supposedly revelations about Starmer due to come out from that, dealing him another political shoeing. Then, come the May local elections, he falls on his sword. Don't forget it was clear there was an internal Whitehall move against Starmer back in the autumn which led to Sue Gray being kicked into touch.

My own prediction based on this potential 'House of Cards' s*** is Wes Streeting as PM by September. And Streeting is pure Blairite. Possibly earlier. Interesting to see he is the most high-profile Labour figure speaking out against Musk. Which makes me think he feels he is not at risk from him....wheels within wheels on this one.

Wes Streeting is extremely ambitious and most definitely wants the job.....sticks out a mile.

The comments arising from this post some suggesting that a couple of the other MP's should be leader shoes a lot of people and indeed a lot of Reform members have no idea what they have joined.

Reform is not a democratic party it has no policies for electing or indeed replacing it's leader as it is a Limited Company pretty much entirely owned by and definitely controlled by Farage.

He appointed himself leader and has the say in who does what.

They are riding the crest of a wave right now and finding out just like every other party that you can't please all of the people all of the time.

But they have got folks worried especially in Wales where they are tipped to do very well in the elections for the Welsh government.

Ambition is a good thing,he may well lead a Labour government in the future, apparently he has picked himself up by the bootstraps from humble beginnings ,My spellchecking friend. 😊

I normally don't comment on English, as we all make mistakes, including myself. However, when someone clearly doesn't care then it's occasionally worthy of comment. If no one ever says anything then it descends into bottom set comedy pathos. Your English is shocking dude, as your current post affirms. I'm not saying you're a bad person, I'm just pointing it out.

As for Streeting, I would agree that a level of ambition isn't a level of criticism. Personally, If you think a Blairite like Streeting is for you then that's your prerogative.

Farage is a big PR guy, I can't remember if it was in their manifesto, but I imagine so.
Farage is an effective campaigner with a talent for stealing headlines.Reform's marginal status in Parliament provides it with the freedom to operate as the voice of the 'Right', pontificating on issues with eye-catching, if not in the practical sense, serious proposals.

Reform are high-profile at this juncture, they have the momentum. This year Kemi Badenoch has to flesh out her diagnosis and prescription for our nation.

At least through the fog you have managed to understand the general thrust of my comments, i'm less than bothered about english but my maths are good enough to help my son to a scholarship and starred first in maths. I have one advantage on Farage and it is where i bank.

Elections aren't won with manifestos Willo, you know that.

The politically savvy percent of the population who read or listen to political commentary are a small percent of the voter base.

Haven't figures like Trump or Johnson, Blair, Obama and Clinton...even stretching back to Kennedy made it clear that what matters is being an effective communicator. The only time it doesn't is when people are left with no other real choice. Starmer himself won less percentage of votes than Corbyn and only won because the right are fundamentally split. Reform only exist because thanks to the likes of Cameron they decided to become social liberals. They only care about their careers, not actual conservativism.

Badenoch isn't an effective communicator: you either have it or you don't.

She's also has no English genetics at all, so white voters the right need in the Red Wall aren't going to flock to her just as white voters in seaside towns aren't. She represents the immigration that they see as negatively affecting their lives via the lowering of social trust that so many differing ethnic groups bring to areas. The blue rinsers who voted Badenoch in are living in just as much of a social bubble as were those careerist twerps who stood alongside Sunak when he took power.

Her only chance is to out Reform, Reform and I don't see that happening for several reasons, the first being that she isn't actually that angry with immigration for obvious reasons. The second was that she was a minister in Sunak's government and hardly pulled up trees nor made a fuss...Braverman to her credit at least publicly objected and actually stood up for real conservativism. She had principles and was willing to pay the price for them.

The Tory base only have themselves to blame, but they did with with Cameron so really they get what they voted for.

Well, I commend you on that success.

Both English and Maths matter, in truth they are the basic fundamentals that underline everything else.

As for Farage, he nor anyone else, should have to worry about bank accounts in a supposedly free country. The only exceptions being those accounts filled via illegal means.

Banks have terms and conditions and I understand Farage went under the limit that is required at the bank.

Well, that was the excuse but banks do love their rules more than most businesses.

The issue was not the reason why they decided to decline his business but rather the briefing of those reasons why to the press. That crossed a definite line that damaged the bank long term. Was a disgusting breach of confidentiality.

Allison Rose had to go.

*but my maths is good enough

You’re welcome

Farage did not fall below the threshold, if memory serves, this was one of his complaints. Apparently if he had done nothing then he would have dropped below the threshold within a couple of months.

Most banks would point this out to a client and suggest they have a conversation about how to address this future problem e.g. please top up or transfer your account.

Coutts decided to give him the heave ho without giving him that courtesy.
