Prof Jason Arday

The number one interest of the establishment is to protect itself and keep its own advantages.

It will literally throw everything else onto a funeral pile if it has to.

As far as I can tell, that's pretty much a universalism.

The elites try to teach/indoctrinate the working and lower middle classes that it has their best interests at heart, but all it takes is simple observation to see that lie.

If the establishment embrace ideologies that result in failure and their own subversion, it means the future is worst for everybody.

True.

The problem though is that the ideology of today's education system seeks to replace the capitalist system and views it as evil, or degrees of at least.

And just like Marx, it doesn't have a good answer for what to replace it with...it has all the same slogans that the original communists used......Yet all those alternatives ended in disaster.

The thing is, much of the capitalist system is actually evil.

To take an example close to your own heart: It is partly a capitalist argument that extols the benefits of mass migration.
The free market loves to see mass imports of cheap labour.
The capitalist system cares nothing for history, heritage or culture. It only sees the economic benefits for the business-owning classes.
It sees a green field meadow and sees an economic development opportunity to provide flats for its new cheap labour source.
It sees a historic mining village and doesn't see ancient family and community bonds, it sees cheap housing to profit from.

Is Burnham suggesting that media should be careful about publishing the truth and instead protect liars from exposure?

Arday's actions and much more the actions of his employers denied qualified people of positions and jobs and they subjected truth seekers to threats and investigations....With the Police embarrassing themselves.

If his appointment was a proper job application I hope the other candidates sue Cambridge for loss of earning etc. Although I rather suspect it was more a coronation.

An other thought has occurred to me about why the media pounced on this story. It was one of their own, a journalist at Times Education who had been reported to the police for doing his job. Journalists are often bitchy and jealous of each other but one thing that unites them is if they see their profession under attack from the establishment especially the forces of law and order. It cuts across the political divide and they all start acting like Bernstein and Woodward. 😀

If the individual at the Times is a rather sober staid uncontroversial person who perhaps has lots of journo friends is it any wonder they rushed to back him up. He was hardly some tabloid jorno peeking through bedroom windows.

As previously stated the left are now trying to shoot the messenger, I'm not sure the public is buying it.

Off the front pages of bbc news already.
Imagine if some black villian got killed by the police in the USA how many days that would be front page !
True but the latter story tends to be extended as there are riots.

And I am listening to Broadcast House on radio 4 as I write and there is a large chunk on Arday with Reform's welfare proposals being the headline.

You guys are like Mary Whitehouse. Criticism without watching/listening.

Careful. Your mascara is running.
All good on that side, I don't wear any, but thanks for looking out.

My comment was admittedly a little confrontational. I knew Jason when we were at university and remember him as a very warm-hearted person, so I'm treating him based on the person I knew, rather than joining in with some of the characterisations. It's not a thread I should have engaged in.

I could see how this was heading from last week. RIP.

World would be a better place if Mary's wise words had been taken seriously.

But apparently not if they have in some way contributed to the story in a negative way. I haven’t checked but I reckon if you search when he was installed as prof there may have been tons more column inches for them to loose their DEI feelings
Are you suggesting that Jason Ardlay didn't get bad press when he was exposed?

Yes, where are BLM? Why isn't Burnham bending the knee?

It's off ALL page son the BBC, the focus is on foreign disasters, and the usual stuff about how tough life is for women.

No what I am saying is when he was put in place did the bbc fawn all over him.
For days and days yet when the poor dude croaked they have forgotten all about him. Mainly due to the fawning putting him in a position where he was defo going to be found out and was found out and we are were we are now.

It was more than confrontational, you called me a bigot for some strange reason.

But genuine condolences on your loss if you knew the guy, whatever the rights and wrongs of this debacle it's always terrible to lose someone to suicide.

The true villain on the piece here is the DEI and woke agenda, elevating this chap to a position he should never have been in. RIP Jason.

Stephen Lawrence....seems to Always be in the newspapers ? Some other news-stories seem to get forgotten very quickly.

That he knew the deceased is irrelevant. He just threw out the insult.

Well, I've reflected like Burnham asked us too.

And I still believe that the truth has to be defended.....Even at cost, otherwise everything is lost.

Universities should hire on merit and uphold standards, not tickboxes.

Arday gamed a system that was willing to be gamed, and wasn't a good person.

The people who promoted him and didn't properly check sources should be sacked and those that attacked truth seekers should also be sacked and the students taught by Arday should sue.
Agree but they did not sack Wes Streeting for interviewing & passing a nonce & defended him to a high place in office in USA along with severe credibility issues on national defense interests - but hay that’s the merit of the government.

If it cannot uphold & judge, make accountability of themselves how can they of a British university

Corrupt nation to the very core - woke as F*u€ the lot of them, self centered, righteous spoilt f’ers

To be fair, Mandelson is accused and likely guilty of many things, being a pedo is not on the list yet.

It is concerning with all the stuff that emerged about him there seems no progress on any criminal prosecutions.
