Plight of Farmers.

A Labour attack on rural communities, an ideological project aimed at dismantling the rural environment and communities, and with it, the principal seat of conservatism in Britain.
A zealous assault on the countryside.

'Inheritance tax springs from the universally held belief that society has the right to share when wealth is transferred on death as a matter of justice'.

Farmers have hoarded land for far too long, inheritance tax will bring life into rural England.

😎
I really wonder if you leftists have any brain at all.

Inheritance tax has the exact opposite effect to what you would like to achieve. It reduces the chances of upward social mobility across generations.
We need large areas of land to grow food. We need someone to manage it.

Who would you rather provide our food supply ?

Everyone should resent paying extra taxes right now with so much of it being wasted on housing illegal immigrants, wasting police time on dystopian activity and barmy anti White, anti British 'progressive' schemes.

Having had dealings with multiple farmers some nice some not so much. I can testify that there is a wide range wealth from specialist small holdings, organic farms, well off and poor arable farmers right up to rich Landowners/farmers who run posh pheasant shooting days, What they all have in common is how well they maintain and steward the countryside.

To pay this tax farmers will need to sell off fields. Which will result in land and hedges no longer being managed. This will lead to them being sold for development. Planning will be fast tracked flooding will increase, wildlife will suffer and someone will make a huge profit on housing while we become dependent on imports.

I did say my final point previously, however...

For those who think I am fixated on history here is a recent example which demonstrates why we cannot rely on imports.

During COVID the EU seized vaccines that were legally ours for their own people, I assume that there had a legal right to so this, probably some emergency legistation.

Now does anything think if we had a global food or energy crisis that our friends and neighbours abroad would not do the same again to protect their interests? Of course they would and so should we, which is why we need to ensure that we can produce our own food.

It is as 'Plain as a pikestaff' that Labour are hostile to rural communities and the values of its inhabitants.

Just consider Labour's plan Labour’s plan for the 'Greenbelt', a plan which threatens to transform vast swathes of the countryside into yet more sprawling, lifeless housing estates. Now, through a plan that jeopardises the financial viability of many family-run farms, Labour is intensifying its attack to bring about a permanent change in the country’s rural economy and environment.

They don't care about farming, they are protesting out of greed.

While they are at it, they should continue to conservative party HQ whose trade deal with Austraiia has cost the UK over 200 millions.

🙄

You just can't get past your envy.

this all reminds me of Josef Stalin's collectivisation of the farms. State power. Bullying & robbing everybody else.

It was a major ideological point of the 'Spanish Civil War'. Below is a brilliant movie by Ken loach. The small farmer debates with the Lefties. Later on he joins the Fascists cos otherwise his tiny farm was going to be robbed off him.

Zimbabwe farmers know all about being robbed of their smallholdings by violent thugs.

Without doubt the farmers will be hammered in the next budget,Thatcher ruined the miners,it is socialisms turn to rinse the Tories.

Not sure what the fuss is all about.

Why should farmers with significant land holdings be exempt from IHT whilst the rest of us be charged full whack?

Not to mention under the new rules farmers can get up to £2m relief if they’re married and incur not cost whatsoever if they transfer holdings over 7 years before they pass.

Pretty cushty set of rules if you ask me!! Can do without posh toffs trotting out and whining about it on the news.

The miners union headed by that idiot Arthur Scargill were hell bent on bringing the country to a standstill mostly for political reasons. The miners were just porns in that game.

They lost.

That stupidity was partly responsible for the decline in workers rights over the following decades.

There cannot be a much more stupid policy than reducing a domestic food supply, which is already too small, while the population is being rapidly increased by immigrants.

You should survive on scraps if there’s ever a food crisis.

6th form and student politics that only 20% voted for. It will be interesting as well as painful to watch it end.
