Palace v Liverpool match thread

Why the hell were people not respecting the minutes silence?

No idea, I guess you’d have to ask those involved.

There were quite a few and the ones near us were questioning the sentiment of paying tribute to a bloke who killed his brother and left both his parents childless and three children without their father, because he was speeding and driving recklessly.

A great second-half performance and a great result. Huge admiration for Devenny stepping up to show seasoned professionals how to take a penalty under pressure. What a hero. If that was a Liverpool youngster the media would still be talking about it in six-months time.

My two big concerns post-game are first the injuries to Kamada and, especially, Guehi, and second how poor Liverpool's defence were. That latter point is my concern that Liverpool will now press harder to get Marc.

Liverpool have a lot of new players and it showed as the game wore on. Our team is settled, knew each other's strengths and ruthlessly exploited Liverpool's current weaknesses. I also think we maybe wanted it that bit more.

Now buy us some more players so we can get some more trophies!!

It’s our reputation as decent fans which will be trashed regardless. That’s the issue. We’re not Millwall and should be able to keep quiet for 1 minute ffs.

I disagree. We are one of the best clubs and sets of supporters at observing a minutes silence or paying respects alongside other clubs. In this instance Diego Jota does not deserve any tribute, sympathy or respect whatsoever.

His brother that he killed, his parents, his wife and his three children however get my full sympathy.

i did respect the 26 seconds of silence (although i couldn't stand the little cheat as a player) but i do wonder how liverpool would've responded if he'd survived but his actions had killed an innocent spanish family in another car.

Now I haven’t seen any of the tv coverage but I have read several comments on this forum and on Sky Sports.

I was sat in block 140 and had a perfect view of the handball. A flighted ball that was on its way through to our player and a raised Liverpool hand CLEARLY takes it away from him. Wtf is going on?! How can VAR look at that and say it’s not a pen bearing in mind what has been given in recent seasons?!?

it looked way more a pen than the one at Birmingham on Friday evening (which had proximity mitigation written all over it). Have the handball rules changed yet Again? Has the VAR interpretation changed for this season? Or are we just talking about yet again s*** VAR decisions ruining the game?!?

Anyone else who can't vote for Devenny as player of the game on the website as he is not listed?
(I know that Hendo or some others are also a good option)

Loads of Liverpool supporters floating around Central London and on unusual trains from stations en route. I guess they must be making a long weekend of it and travelling back to Liverpool tomorrow.

It was horrendous! Total bunch of cnuts!

What is their problem?! I F*ckin HATE Liverpool (And Everton). Just horrible clubs with awful ‘supporters’.
Thanks Phil’s barber. You clearly don’t understand the boos because you didn’t experience the national reaction to Hillsborough and the lies that were perpetuated by the government for 30 years before they admitted it was slander. As Londoners you have no idea what it’s like to live 200 miles away and be as irrelevant and distegarded as the city of Liverpool is. I’ve lived in both cities, I’ve seen it from both sides.

Anyway. Palace is a top club with top fans but Phil’s barber is a f***ing prick. Educate yourself you prick
