Probably it.Imray staying would stifle the development of Cardines who at three years younger is seen as a better prospect. One of the problems of a large Academy is a continual flow of new talent. Selling Imray brings in £5m and leaves an open route for Cardines.
Imray shop windowing in the lower leagues and Cardines getting on the pitch for the first XI seems to support that.
Shame. We spent £££ on the academy. I thought Imray would be the first one from the new generation to make the leap.
