Palace potentially denied entry to Europa League?

Plenty.

If I were EM, I'd be consulting my lawyers over some of the nonsense that people have pulled out of their backsides in this thread alone. I'd definitely be asking Parrish to back up some of his intimation.

After a good lunch, and checking hotel availability for the 2026 Europe League final, naturally.

Truth is the people at fault are Textor and Palace's email admins. Not Palace fans, and certainly not Forest or Forest fans.

F*** me bore off.

Europa League Final? Leave modern era European finals to winners, buddy.

Not some weird fat Greek inspired bottle jobs that blew 3rd, 4th, 5th and then 6th place.

Just how desperate your bottling was that you get in round the back on a technicality. "Europa League place through the court system, you'll never sing that"... lol

Didn't help our cause when your cake loving owner went screaming like a spoilt 9 yr old girl to UEFA over it though eh? But then why care about whats fair when you see the chance to step on someone else to get where you want to be?
And all this condescending bollox from Forest fans, wagging their fingers at us saying ' we feel sorry for you but you broke the rules' Check the facts, we are not and never have been part of a MCO therefore the March 1st deadline (Or any other deadline) did not apply to us. Bottom line, UEFA saw a way to get little old Palace out of the EL, Marinakis saw a way of getting into the EL without having earned it and started whining to UEFA that its all so unfair that Forest dont get to compete in the EL.
Even CAS seem to be in UEFA's pocket these days denying evidence to be submitted and refusing witnesses to be called. If thats not true UEFA will sue us. Funny how so far they have stayed silent. Because they know what they have done.

Enjoy being run by a snake in the grass, alleged drug running corrupt t***. It’s a shame that many Notts Forest fans are taking great delight at taking a place in a competition they did not qualify for. Here’s hoping you bomb out early, although with Fat Boys “influence “ I’m sure that won’t happen

Never mind not deserving the Europa League…Forest didn’t even finish high enough in the league to qualify for the Europa Conference League on their own merit.

They only got in because Newcastle United won the Carabao Cup as well as finishing in the top 5 of the Premier League. Thus their Conference League place went to the next highest rank team (Notts Florist) who did not qualify for a UEFA competition via their league position.

When I pointed out some facts about Palace on a Forest forum I got a torrent of abuse from totally deluded fans and was immediately banned. The statement published yesterday has been carefully drafted to make pertinent points without risking legal challenges. There’s not an ounce of nonsense there. This is now bigger than simply Palace being treated unfairly. It’s about the whole regulatory structure not being fit for purpose when it is completely obvious to anyone with any degree of objectivity that Palace are not, and never have been, part of a multi club organisation, whilst Forest are. To allow clubs to hide behind blind trusts and to fix arbitrary dates to apply irrelevant rules is to assist them in doing what UEFA state they want to outlaw. This is a disservice to football.

We are about to appoint a football regulator whose role is to protect the cultural identity of our national sport. That seems certain to include taking over from the FA the responsibility for determining who meets the “fit and proper” person test of those who own our clubs. A test that hopefully will be strengthened and applied retrospectively.

There are some who seem very unlikely to survive such examination.

I would love to see Parish bring all 'mid size and smaller' clubs together to stand against UEFA and the clear corruption. The fact the European court of law advised we can now take this to our own court of law to challenge the dodgy process we were put through is great (albeit on narrow areas of the law at this time - according to Sky Sports anyway).

If we could stand with clubs including Brighton who might also suffer from the same big club bias and therefore at a disadvantage for European places could be really powerful. I hope Parish and Bloom work together on this as they are two very smart owners/leaders of their clubs.

We need to club together with the mid sized and smaller clubs that get screwed again and again!!!

What about the new UEFA weighting to previous performances in Europe, again baking in historic advantage. It's all weighted to existing big teams and destroys sporting merit of achieving something in the here and now.

Come on Steve, create a group of clubs so you're not fighting this alone.

As said previously, 'governance' falls into the professional brief of our Government's Sports Minister yet where is the pressure from both fans and club for her to act re: UEFA inconsistency and ethos, especially when regional MPs produced an open letter endorsing support for Palace?

True, Palace alone are small but get enough other clubs interested and it becomes a populous cause, that's when the Government get interested because they feel it equates to votes.

Pafos Atlantic hotel
Assuming you mean Atlantica Golden Beach then nearest pubs would be in Coral Bay a 10mins drive or plenty of local buses go there. There are 5/6 pubs which show PL most show multiable games on different screens with sound off. Your hotel is on the main road between pafos and coral bay. Driven it load of times but don't remember seeing pubs along there. Hotel staff should know if there are any maybe down a side road.
Enjoy your stay and have fun. We love it here but miss Selhurst

Brighton are already members of the ECA as are the likes of Brentford, Fulham and a few more outside of the Sky 6, anything to stop Palace joining?

Ha, good old gemini, my original search said they were not a member, just checked again and they are a member. Apologies

Corrected the above info.

They would still suffer the big club bias of historic performance though so may still be interested in joining. Steve obviously will know far more about the dynamics but i still believe many clubs will want to stand against this (I hope so).

I thought that Parish is a spokesperson for a number of teams in the Premier League or is that not the case anymore? Can't remember what the group is called.
And that you will find we stood against there being a European Clubs' Association?
In fact, that could have been one of the reasons we were done over.

Problem is, we can say all this but:

1. UEFA assessed that we were MCO. They are clearly wrong. But, as an appeals tribunal, CAS cannot substitute their own subjective assessment of facts for those arrived at by UEFA.

2. Whether Forest are part of an MCO or not, they did not trigger the rules. The issue of applicable dates did not come into play and UEFA could stand by their arbitrary deadline.

3. Emailgate is also a non point. It is one down the rabbit hole I know but, to comply, we should have put Textor's interest on blind trust and released it from the trust when we were knocked out the Cup... or otherwise. I don't know if this would have negatively impacted the marketability of his shares but UEFA do not appear to have considered this and didn't have to as the rules are the rules.

I am saying this after the event and in retrospect as I was hoping and arguing for a different result. The one point that does upset me is that appeal tribunals can feel they are completely fettered. However, in a case that is so obviously perverse, prejudicial to a relatively small club and blatantly undermining of two major competitions, it is sad they could or would not find any hook onto which to hang a different decision.

Can’t access as subscription needed. What was the summary of his article?
Basically he said what we all know that UEFA was and is complicit in allowing MCO's to bypass the regulations because of their wealth and power. In other words, one law for the rich or favoured (City, Chelsea, Red Bull, Lyon, etc) and another more penal law for the 'nonentities' like Palace.
