Palace potentially denied entry to Europa League?

What I keep wondering about is ,on the UEFA regulation on levels of influence, what is required? Some say less than a thirty percent voting right . If this is right surely we were never in breach. If as I suspect they judge it on the percentage of shares then that explains why no decision has been made and they hide behind the Lyon situation. It’s a little strange to think ,Parish, the club, that have never put a foot wrong where regulations are concerned , would not have known their ownership model needed to comply with this particular regulation. Blind trusts they couldn’t know. But everything points to the fact that they think they would not need a blind trust. That’s in real doubt now.
There is also another issue about Palace's stance which I cannot see mentioned in the comments so far. Lyon were provisionally demoted to Ligue 2 in November 2024 due to their unacceptable debts of £422 million. Consequently the Palace board could have thought that there would not be a conflict with Lyon and whilst I am sure that Textor puts on a brave face for the outside world (even appealing the latest confirmation of their demotion), he may have known that there was little prospect of the debts being reversed into an acceptable position. This may be why no action was taken to put Textor's shares into a blind trust as Lyon wouldn't be in conflict.

This borders on the absurb really.

So Lyon are going to argue that they are financially getting their house in order as they've removed Textor from the day to day and they've significantly improved their balance sheet. So on the balance of that, they shouldn't be relegated.

But hang on a sec, they've improved their balance sheet by injecting the 180-190m that Textor has just recieved from selling Palace! So by removing his influence at Palace, that somehow then improves Lyon's prospectives at staying in Ligue 1 and therefore the Europa League! Even though that now proves that there is no multi club model, which means that UEFA are hanging onto the blind trust rule that had to be in place by April to stop colusion between clubs in the Europa league, even though the clubs will officially be complete unlinked at the start of the competition!

What an absolute s*** show this is!

I need a beer, my head hurts...

Best case scenario is Lyon gets thier relegation overturned but get a points deduction thus they finish lower in the table and we go in. That means no decision by UEFA and no appeals or clubs like Nottingham Forest sueing.

Man Utd are something of a basket case. But Spurs? Good team, deep pockets and (despite the criticism) competent manager. Yet they barely survived. What chance a smaller club with far fewer resources? Remember, Ange placed much of the fault for their poor season at the door of the very competition we are fighting to get in to.

This Europe lark has something of a damned if we don't and possibly damned if we do about it.

I suspect I am like many on here. Get into Europe, grit your teeth and hope...
Ange Postecoglu was out of his depth in the Premier league. He did well in the Europa but he is not a quality manager. Reason Levy pulled the plug. He is nowhere near the tactician Glasner is.
Spurs didn't struggle because they were in the EL. They struggled because AP is a crap manager

They haven't improved their balance sheet yet. The sale has not gone through. So Textor doesn't have his money.
If they have the appeal before the funds are transferred they are in a worse position because the funds have only been promised and who knows John might not send it all in the direction of Lyon
If they have the appeal after the funds are transferred then there can be no conflict with Palace as the funds came from Textor selling his Palace stake
