Palace potentially denied entry to Europa League?

This borders on the absurb really.

So Lyon are going to argue that they are financially getting their house in order as they've removed Textor from the day to day and they've significantly improved their balance sheet. So on the balance of that, they shouldn't be relegated.

But hang on a sec, they've improved their balance sheet by injecting the 180-190m that Textor has just recieved from selling Palace! So by removing his influence at Palace, that somehow then improves Lyon's prospectives at staying in Ligue 1 and therefore the Europa League! Even though that now proves that there is no multi club model, which means that UEFA are hanging onto the blind trust rule that had to be in place by April to stop colusion between clubs in the Europa league, even though the clubs will officially be complete unlinked at the start of the competition!

What an absolute s*** show this is!

I need a beer, my head hurts...
They haven't done that. They cant do that. Its Textor's money not Lyon's. You cant just pump outsider money into a club to cover overspend. If that was allowed Textor would have just bought the players he wanted to Palace in the first place and covered the shortfall in PSR out of his own pocket.

If the decision goes against us, and we appeal, does anybody know whether a similar appeal has succeeded in similar circumstances?

It may be that our situation is unique, but I feel that UEFA play by their own rules which they interpret as they see fit.
Thus I wouldn’t be confident about the success of an appeal.
The BBC is now reporting that club is considering legal action.

Should have leaked that little nugget of gossip UEFA's way 2 weeks ago. They might just have panicked and let us in last Friday!

That's like being shipwrecked and rescued by the Titanic.
You'd rather Starmer turned up in a rubber dinghi surrounded by illegals would you? 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣

The conference league is a total non starter ……we will have exactly the same issue with Brondby who are owned by Blitzer.

I am hopeful that an equitable way out can be found ….french reduce Lyon punishment to just points deduction….any points deduction at all even just a single point means Lyon move out of qualifying places in league.
I can see a points deduction being an outcome for Lyon but trouble is would they apply it to next season?

If they are smart they'll apply it to last season

That way Lyon get to stay in Ligue 1 though miss out on the Europa League (they could get conference) and Palace get the Europa Cup and UEFA do not get sued for £100m by Palace for not only their bad unfair discriminatory rules but also their mismanagement of the process since then

You think that's unlikely? I bet Tony Pulis thought the same!

I asked AI for a definition of MCO.

There is absolutely no f***ing way UEFA can look at this and say it applies to us (other than the first one), therefore the March 1st blind trust deadline loophole is completely irrelevant, and they're just being arseholes.

Key aspects of Multi-Club Ownership:

  • Multiple Club Ownership:
The core concept is that one entity (a person, company, or investment group) holds stakes in more than one club.
  • Potential for Synergies:
MCOs aim to create synergies by sharing resources like scouting networks, training facilities, and player development programs.
  • Different Models:
MCOs can take various forms, including majority ownership, affiliate networks with majority and minority stakes, or simply minority investments.
  • Strategic Player Movement:
One of the key aspects is the potential for strategic player movement between clubs within the MCO, potentially benefiting both the selling and buying clubs.
  • Competitive Advantages:
MCOs can potentially gain competitive advantages through shared knowledge, cost reductions, and improved player development.
  • Profit Maximization:
MCOs can also be seen as a way to maximize profits through player trading and exploiting market inefficiencies.
  • Examples:
Red Bull with clubs like RB Salzburg and RB Leipzig, and the City Football Group with clubs like Manchester City and New York City are prominent examples.
  • Regulatory Considerations:
MCOs are subject to regulations aimed at preventing conflicts of interest and maintaining fair competition, particularly within specific leagues.

Is there any legal recourse for Palace to sue UEFA regarding the delayed decision? Apologies if it's been mentioned, there have been three whole pages if posts since I last looked.

I realised after I posted that you touched on something I was going to ask. Regardless of the outcome surely this has cost us money.

Part of me would quite like us to just rinse them for millions and not play in Europe!
