Palace potentially denied entry to Europa League?

What still hasn't been answered by anybody is why Lyon get to keep the place over us?

Drogheda, who won their spot in the Conference league by winning Ireland's equivalent to the FA Cup, the FAI Cup were removed from the competition because their sister club in Denmark Silkeborg finished in SEVENTH place, thereby entering a relegation play-off mini league which they were the "Champions" of.

I cannot understand.

Hopefully if Textor sells his shares we'll still be alright.
He's been trying to do that for 2 years already. He clearly wants an amount that buyers consider too high so unless there is pressure on him to lower his price I doubt he will.

Apparently Harris and Blitzer offered to buy him out so they can just wait and see if he folds or sticks.

It is more likely that the UEFA issue will be resolved before he sells his shares. Hopefully in our favour.

The Irish premier league finishes on Nov 1st!, Drogheda are currently 3rd, it makes no sense at all

so still another week , or two, before Palace find out UEFA's decision. That's more delay to Palace and their players deciding what to do in the transfer market.

It is a nail biter, and will be it seems until the end of the month. That in its self may be our biggest reason to hope because Parish, and Textor have laid out their position to UEFA, we know that much. UEFA have given us until the end of the month to comply. My hope is that both sides know how to get over the problem, otherwise why have a period to comply if it was never possible in the first place?

I'm starting to over think things now, but if we have until the end of the month to comply, then why was Textor's initial offer made two weeks ago now, to place his shares into a Blind Trust, rejected ? I realise there was a deadline for doing so long gone now, but are UEFA giving us time to comply or needing more time for Palace to prove their case ?

it's actually very easy to understand, it's based on the final league position. We finished 12th, Lyon 6th.

We can disagree with the rule e.g. should a cup not trump the league postion but the rules are clear.

I know it's only 'football insider' but it's the quote " decisive influence" that is the key(imho)

This is just another slant with the same jist as the other one . . .

I think UEFA have said it's too late for a Blind Trust solution, and to go away and find another way.
It's only a guess though.

Yes, the FA Cup is a major trophy win. Finishing 6th isn't plus the French play 4 games less too (and it's an inferior league). If they say no then it should be appealed and even offered that we play Lyon in a one game to decide
