Palace potentially denied entry to Europa League?

Seems the media/clickbait are now stirring things between us & Forest . . .

My mates a Spurs fan and it seems they also are creating a rivalry with Forest. 2 rivals in one summer, fat boy Marinakis has been a busy little bee

From what was originally released at the time the letter was Forest asking for clarity on the rules of MCO? The media has built this up to what it is now, part of the reason for Palace's demotion. Do fans seriously think that UEFA didn't know the makeup of the Palace ownership and that this letter revealed previously unknown information on who owned what? Even Textor said during the Talksport interview he thought there would be an issue after winning the FA Cup and correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm sure I read that SP had mentioned missed emails from UEFA? How is any of that down to Forest?

Have you seen the content of the letter because I haven’t and I’ve been following this closely since the start?

Why would Forest be asking for clarification on MCOs when they are clearly a MCO club themselves and will already know the rules and how they pertain to them, whereas Palace are not?

Nobody knows what was in that letter. But did Forest need to get involved? I don’t see why, if Palace were taken out they knew they had the place, this was newspaper talk before any letter so they knew. Did the letter cause UEFA to have extra concern about any decision? Is hard to know, but Forest didn’t put that letter in for no reason even though on the face of it there was no reason to do it.

Up until the last match or two of the season Forest had a Champions League spot; their poor results on the pitch meant that they suddenly dropped from the Champions League to The Conference League - a 'relegation' of two competitions. I don't think that the fat boy could stomach that scenario and so thought he could improve Forest's position by sending a letter 'reminding' UEFA of what MCO rules are. I am speculating of course but I can see no other reason for a communication to be sent to UEFA. Not a nice man if I am correct.

Textor said on Talksport last week that he signed a document which basically laid out what voting rights he had plus the understanding that Parish had the final say in any decisions in the running of the club.
My understanding is that he owned 43% of the shares, on which he made a big profit on resale, but only held 25% of the voting rights. UEFA “rules” set a threshold of 30% on whether a shareholder is deemed to have sufficient interest to be considered.

So notwithstanding all the other considerations it seems we can also argue that we didn’t break their requirements anyway.

Forest got involved as they knew they were next in line for the Europa spot and just pushed them into making the decision to expel us. That’s business for you :-( If it’s the weaker competition for us, then let’s get two years of Europe competitions by winning the Conference. Not a nailed on thing but we are in with a huge chance of two seasons of European football 🙂

No. Strike a deal with UEFA that they don't give us any European football for 2025/26 but give us a bye straight into the Champions League for 2026/27...

It does look as though Forest decided to stir the pot.

My cynical but hopeful take on this is that EUFA know this is wrong and not what was intended but are fearful of being sued and losing, so have allowed themselves to become hogtied by rules they know aren’t fit for purpose.

Who might sue them? Either Palace or Forest. If CAS has ruled would any case succeed or even proceed? Very unlikely.

So they probably wanted CAS to make the final ruling and might even be hoping to have them rule against them and be instructed to change their rules.

The letter probably went along the lines of "excuse me but we complied with the rules ...you wanna have a look at that lots paperwork .. we might have to consider our legal options " something along those lines ,i reckon
It's grassing up basically ,something that would get you a kick in at school 😂
