Palace potentially denied entry to Europa League?

I'm genuinely worried now about our status on Europe next season, City group did their thing and side stepped it last season. The Red Bull clubs somehow have no issue either but Textor is now rushing to sell his shares at a discount just so we can get in. Stinks of corruption and worried what happens if he can't sell....if he did do we end up with someone more useless than him?

Shame the other owners can't buy him out.

It's a mess.
It's not that long ago that the other American owners wanted out to buy into other clubs.
Furthermore, I'm highly dubious that businessman Textor will be looking to sell at a discount just to help Palace out.

If there's any benefit to the current situation, it at least brings to a head the situation re the strange ownership model of the club that many on here have harboured concerns about.

It was a mess pre Textor and his involvement has meant it's even worse.

It's hard to get into the minds of billionaires, but I've worked on these assumptions ;

* Harris and Blitzer are passive investors, content to leave the detail and running of the club to Parish
* However, as investors they are always looking for a bigger return / better opportunities
* When Textor came onboard his multi club ambitions were either not articulated or ignored until it became an issue.
* The vast majority of potential buyers of CPFC would want more control over the club than Harris and Blitzer are content with and Textor wants but doesn't have.

The irony here is that Steve Parish, while ( imo ) he has done a remarkable job, is potentially the biggest stumbling block when it comes to attracting those potential buyers.

If this costs us European Football, so be it - at least the FA Cup win can't be taken away from us.

However the fallout from that could of course see the manager and certain players being far from happy....

Agreed.

Apparently Blitzer and Harris offered to buy out Textor last year but presumably he didn't like the offer. It all depends on how desperate Textor is for money to fund Lyon and what pressure the real shareholders of Eagles Investment are putting him under.

I could see a situation where Textor is forced to sell to Harris and Blitzer as he needs the funds but then he releases a fig leaf statement saying he did this so Palace could compete in Europe.

I just want him gone.

Re the last paragraph that's my view too in relation to the potential fallout.
The old Chinese saying is, 'may you live in interesting times,' and we're certainly heading for those during the summer.

Regardless of the European decision it will be interesting to see the squad that starts the season, the ownership/executive arrangements and developments (if any) on Glasner's future.

Mark Clattenburg has blown his whistle. He is suspending the award of the FA Cup to Palace. He is calling play back to March 2, when Man Utd were knocked out of the FA Cup on penalties by Fulham. A VAR review has found the Fulham keeper moved early on one of the penalties. He has awarded Man Yoo a 'by' through all the next rounds, including the final.
The FA Cup has been awarded to Manyoo, and Palace will now not play in Europe.

The End,

I was blissfully unaware about Eagle Football Holdings up until a few days ago.

I don’t really understand how any of this ownership, blind trusts (apparently not a viable option) or selling of shares stuff works and it’s giving me a headache.

Fgs! I pray the uefa let common sense prevail and stop being needlessly difficult. I don’t imagine Textor as being a well liked figure in France & this probs extends to the petty tyrant uefa bods in Switzerland.

Hopefully this is just ‘eye of the storm’ chat & things will resolve themselves.

Palace should just pay the required bribe.

It would be very Palace to be denied entry into Europe for the second time. I don't want it to happen, but if it does, I hope it doesn't become a bigger issue that it needs to be and detract from our achievement this year. We won the FA Cup, that is the prize. Europe is a bonus. It's not like we're one of those clubs that needs to be in Europe or prioritises cups as a backdoor into European competition.

I am a big Parish fan, but when we got to the Final, on April 26, he should have seen the possible consequences of what may happen and have a plan in place, like Notts Forests owner Evangelos Marinakis had, i hope all works out, but its 50/50 for me.

I think it will be a massive issue to what our current players and future purchases decide to do
