Ollie Pope didn't like it. Root and Brook could have gone on for hours more but were both exhausted. Can't be easy batting that long when the temperature is in the mid-90s.

I first saw him partnering Ian Bell, such stroke-play, Bobby Simpson was highly impressed.

I remember that day 12 years ago when Sir Alistair introduced him, I just knew he was special.

He has surpassed our wildest expectations.

My guess is when matches played however long until finished, it probably happened. Even on here, I don't think anyone is old enough to remember that.

That's taking caution a bit too far. Better the bowlers keep their energy for their main job than trying to add to the 823 we already had and taking 6 wickets makes it look like a pretty good decision.
