Ollie must be the priority signing

You do know this is Palace we are talking about, don’t you? Not sure Roy will be up for another stint
Consider some of the managers appointed by Steve Parish :
Holloway - Promotion to the PL.
Pulis - We were 19th when he joined we finished 11th.
Pardew - He took us from 18th to 10th in his first season. He took us to an FA Cup Final.
Allarydce - We were in a pickle when he joined with us a place above the relegation zone. We finished 14th.
Hodgson - In his first season we were 20th when he joined and we finished 12th.He kept us in the PL season on season.
Vieira - He took us to an FA Cup Semi-Final.
Glasner - I don't need to pen his achievements.

I think we have to mention Freedman as well as he built the team Holloway took up, Viera easily the worst, Pardew did ok, but was allowed to spend a lot of money on a lot of average players.

His last game at the helm was the away 1-0 loss to Brighton.
We were 12th in the table after 27 games when he departed, we ended the previous season under Vieira in the same position.

He has done a brilliant job, 100m+ deficit this season, no disrespect to Bournemouth, but Iraola needs a bigger team.
Agree he has done well but the net spend was only 25m this year (but larger the year before). The caveat with moving to a bigger team is that Bournemouth are a counter-attacking team. Can he do it for a possession based side
Perhaps if we get qualification for Europe again and Glasner walks he will come to Palace

I apologise for my faux pas, i was looking at the year 25/26 not the whole season

I was joking 🤨

Pulis did crazily well with the motley crew he had. That was the original miracle. Arguably the biggest overachievement we've ever had. When you consider it, most teams play to use long throws and set pieces these days, so Pulis was perhaps a visionary. Arteta has nicked his playbook. We scored from corners so often under Pulis. Surely the most we ever have in the Premier League? - only similar I can think of is a couple of times under Glasner. But they seem to come in streaks. Although we're still somehow crap at free kicks.

Liverpool beaten by PSV 4-1 could they be looking at Glasner if slot gets the push?
Slot is pretty much the same as Erik ten Hag was for Manure. Both were seen as the next big thing whilst managing abroad, but didn't cut it in the Prem.

Slot only won the league off the back of Klopp.

Glasner is now proven, so we should be concerned, and I reckon Liverpool may see it as a means to securing Guehi too.

Jiminez, I have my concerns about this. OG is one of the best tactical managers in the prem, he usually gets his team prepped for the team we are playing and doesnt stick to one system. He gets the best out of the players he can see potential with and is a true winner, it'd be gutting to lose him, especially to the scousers, but lets hope Parish can make the Glasner party last a bit longer!

If Slot goes I think the new manager will be out of Iraola and Glasner. Let's hope it's the former.

My first time on this thread. A very interesting read; thanks to all contributors.

Regarding our wonderful manager, I have read comments regarding managers (at Palace) who can get good performances out of the players.

Looking at OG
He came in and showed the world what could be achieved. Last season had no relegation worries and SP has had to think about whether we need a new trophy cabinet (FA Cup & Charity Shield) or a new stand first.

One of the highlights of OG is that he can identify players who will improve, and who need gentle support. We have a good number of young players out on loan (making room for Academy talent), and probably all of us wonder who OG might be viewing at any moment.

What I would like to happen is OG being teed up. When Roy became ill, it ewas surprising how quickly OG became our Manager. SP needs to have OG teed up for possibly another two years (perhaps one year extension with option for another season) at the end of January or early February so he knows he is welcome to continue as manager.

Depending on whether CPFC:-
progresses further in the League Cup
makes good progress in the Conference League
Qualifies for Europe - FA Cup or high enough in Premier League,
Have almost a full team drawn from returning loan players or the academy understudying the first eleven which is recognised by supporters as good enough

OG will have a springboard to really show what he can do. Were OG not to stay, it would be interesting to see a manager swap - OG and Vincent Kompany at the start of the 26/27 season. .
