I must admit I find a few takes on OG's contract situation quite baffling.
1 - if OG thinks he's too big for the club then he wouldn't have joined us in the first place. He is a very thorough man who works in the finer details, he would have known what Palace were before he joined and yet was happy to be a part of it (and earlier than originally planned). Since he has been with Palace, we have brought in some serious talent - Yeremy Pino, 22 year old Spanish international who starts games regularly for Spain. Daichi Kamada, Japanese international who was highly sought after in both France and Germany but chose Palace. £25m on Eddie Nketiah, if he clicks with us would easily be in the England squad as a Kane back up. Just a few examples of the investment Glasner has received, not to mention keeping Guehi at a cost to the club.
2 - Thomas Frank is a shining example of how the grass in not always greener just because a club plays in the Champions League. Glasner is not going to manage a regular top 4 club so he would going to a Spurs, Villa, Newcastle, United etc. Are they really attractive propositions in comparison to what he has at Palace? He loves football, loves connecting with the fans and lifting the club - he's not in it for the money.
3 - Glasner bemoans a lack of transfer activity within the club due to Sarr's injury. We have 3 replacements for Sarr - Franca, Glasner didn't fancy him so shipped him out on loan (probably rightly so). Esse, Glasner seems to have fallen out with him and refuses to play him at the most obvious of times (OG's fault). Uche, Glasner doesn't fancy him for whatever reason and that fact is even being leaked to the press. Not too sure how the club could back Glasner more to be honest. We have a big squad, the only position on paper I would say we are light is Munoz at RB. Glasner picks the team, no one else. If they are being injured from being overworked, no amount of investment would change that.
Glasner and Parish have a good relationship so I'm sure not much has been made of this in house. All in all, I think Glasner is just stating the obvious when it comes to how he feels, not really surprising to anyone as it's a pretty common theme that runs through most football clubs.
