Nottingham Forest vs. Crystal Palace match thread

It'll be Mateta out, Larsen in, and the annual Chelsea loanee won't it.

It's like those Mystery Shirt in a box thingys..... We just get a mystery Chelsea loanee delivered and everyone is surpsied when we open the cardbaord box it comes in. Paddy Mac eats the free gift bag of sweets that comes with it.

3 points from 27. No goal from open play since Victorian times. Clueless against a low block, like all season. Conceded from a set play again. Those are all things that are on the manger. He’s clearly a big part of the problem
He has had limited availability, once the injuries set in. He was very clear what was needed in summer window for a successful Champaign this term with the added pressure of playing Thursdays and Sunday. Parish lost the plot over the summer and we are now paying the price. It was Parish and Parish et-al who failed to strengthen when needed and sold key players with poor replacements or none all! Please don’t shoot the messenger because he said it as it really is.

He’s got 3 points from 27.

3 points! I know there are gaps in the squad, I know Parish has made mistakes. Bottom line is Glasner is paid handsomely to get results and he can’t get them. I don’t really care about Glasner’s ‘message’. I care about his results. His results are appalling and he’s shown nothing to suggest he can turn it around.

I’m at a loss knowing what formation we played at times today, especially the so called forward players. Everyone of them was everywhere other than in the box. At one stage I thought Pino was centre forward and then one of the others would have a spell there. Johnson hardly got into the box and often was on the half way line. Not going to knock any players other than Glasner who didn’t set us up to hurt Forest, especially in the second half. It almost seemed like we had too many forward players on the field but with none of them knowing where to play? Abysmal set up by Glasner who showed no way of being able to sort us out? Our defence was often in trouble because our so called midfielders/forwards in front of them made mistake after mistake. Lucky to get a point against 10 men. Shocking!

Exactly. Glasner has no clue how to get results with the players he’s got. He wanted a small squad, he’s presumably signed off on the players that have come in, he’s just whinged and made no changes that have any material effect on our ability to score from open play. I can barely watch his interviews anymore.

Not a great performance, but when you have a CM of Hughes and Lerma, you are not going to get a load of insightful passing. They are solid squad players but we'll never progress with them in the team.

Johnson and Sarr need space in behind, so the low block essentially nullifies their threat.

Pino, predictably getting loads of stick, and he did misplace a bunch of passes, but he was working hard to get on the ball and try and make things happen. I suspect he had triple the touches of any of the other attackers. I do wish fans could appreciate that he was the the only player trying to force thing, instead of looking at exclusively the bad stuff and writing him off.

Wharton and hopefully Kamada back next week. We'll start to get some rhythm back. I'll keep banging the Kamada drum, but we've been terrible without him.
Worst post of the day.

Hughes and Lerma were decent today. Our build out is fine and they offered defensive solidity Kamada could only dream of offering - Forest barely had a sniff. Where we fall down is when the ball reaches our attacking third…no imagination or movement.

Agreed, Hughes can’t hit a barn door. But that’s not what he’s in the team for. Wharton besides Hughes would’ve given us more creativity - let’s look forward to that from next week.

That really says everything about the manager. There was enough on the pitch today, talent wise to get a win against 10 man Forest. There was no direction. No leadership at all. 3 points from 27 is a f***ing disgrace and reason enough to be sacked for any other manager or club. I think Ollie has pictures of SP with Ms Reid that they don’t want released.

Seriously something needs to change NOW to have a chance to save our season.

Oh dear, looks like Glasner is trying it on here to force Steves hand.
Who's gonna blink first ?
Glasners ego will send us down and as he said himself he doesn't care.
Really sad as I really liked him......before
That’s not what he said. He said he doesn’t care if we choose him or someone else to do the job.

Ultimately the decision is Steve’s. Oli was 100% correct about that.

We topped the chart with passes , pass backs , missed passes - all that possession & we ask Hughes to envisage he’s at Cardiff Arms Park 🤣
I did say to my son to give him a chance that the goal is to made bigger alot bigger really bigger massively bigger 20ft by 30 ft should do it🤣🤣🤣

Really like Hughes, but I’ve got a better shot at 70 years old with a dodgy knee.
I can strike a ball with my head down and knee over the ball which is all that is required.
I’ll go further, I would have scored more goals in the last couple of seasons than Kamada, Wharton , Hughes, Lerma - one goal should do it.

playing against 10 men has changed from the old days , look how we looked against chelsea , you keep a couple of quicks up front , so when not defending very very deep you scare them to drop a couple back with a breakway at pace , give credit to forest for containing us with 10 men , there not the first team in the prem to do this to other teams
