Why?

What would you prefer. Agreeing a deal with any old manager quickly, or taking a bit more time to get the right man?

Sage is very highly rated and under contract. We are likely not only negotiating his release, but his first team coaching staff too.
I expect the four Austrians to follow Oli out the door, with McCarthy, Holland, and Quy remaining in post.

3-4 close confidents of the new man to fill those vacancies. Presumably.

All of those names didn't have "EPL experience", until they did.

We should never get hung up on it; it's a faulty way of thinking that eventually jusy leads to a revolving door of cast-offs when taken to it's logical conclusion.

This prem experience requirements couldn't be more untrue. Almost all of the successful Prem managers did not have prem experience

This Sage fella has done nothing massive gamble reminds me of FDB risk we took and he had a far better CV.
Frank de Boer started out well enough with Ajax, but had lost the last two seasons in an otherwise one-horse league before he left them. He then followed that with a failed spell at Inter Milan before joining us.

I was in a minority that was happy to give FDB more time than he got, and his initial appointment was exciting at the time, for pure name-recognition from his playing days... but he didn't have much of a managerial CV when he joined us.

Sage has just taken Lens, where the expectations are way less than Ajax's, to within a whisker away from PSG's league record, and to their first ever cup title. Basically making him the Oli Glasner of the Pas-de-Calais. Prior to that he turned Lyon around and secured for them European football.

Arguably Sage's experience, field of work, and CV is way above what FDB's was when he joined us.

Precisely. None of Ferguson, Guardiola, Mourinho, or Wenger had EPL experience before working their magic and writing their names in the annuals.

Fergie had a similar record to Sage in fact. Wenger's wasn't that far above the pair. They were both obviously walking into bigger clubs and it was enough.

And there the similarity ends

To quote your previous post.
I run my own business and will always try and get the best deal. Thats common sense. Sometimes the best deal is to pay a little bit more and get it done before a rival swoops in and takes that deal from you. Also, common sense
Again showing naivety. We need Sage in the door asap therefore going the extra mile makes sense. We dont NEED Hackney therefore why pay over the odds? Horses for courses son. You might learn that one day.

Me neither - BUT, we must keep Sarr. I also think we need to look at Strikers because JSL and EN are not the answer.
Strand-Larson will be a more prolific striker for us than Mateta in my opinion. He has everything that JPM has but is faster and his finishing rate is way higher in converting chances. JPM needs about 6 chances to score one goal.

The new manager could conceivably not favour that that type of striker, preferring instead someone who is more mobile and more fleet of foot.
Mateta was much derided before his failed transfer abroad, JSL was purchased in a £48 Mill deal as a replacement, Mateta was then welcomed back into the 'Fold' and was favoured over JSL. The rejuvenated Mateta was worthy of his place, his performances far better than those produced by JSL.
Cant agree with that. JSL was alway played with Brennan Johnson and an often out of form Pino and was feeding off scraps. JPM had Wharton and Sarr supplying him with quality all the time he was on the pitch. Still he missed too many opportunities. If JSL had the same supply I'm betting he'd have converted more of the chances created.

Can't say I agree with this mate. If we'd paid £25m for Eze or Olise, nobody would be saying we overpaid looking back. Bale, Ramsay and Walcott all came from the Championship as well.

Meanwhile our list of £25m+ signings from Premier League clubs includes Strand Larsen, Johnson, Benteke, Nketiah and Sakho...
Fair enough. I just think at 24 the lad is hardly the Championship's new 'bright young thing'. He has been around a while and only last season started playing to the form that has got him noticed. I'm also told (might not be true) that he only has a year left on his contract. If that is true then I'm sorry but £25m is pushing it.
