If Iriola were to choose to come to Palace it would be a real endorsement of the positive direction of travel for the club and would be THE appointment to truly take Palace to the next level.

I really really really really hope it happens.

Putting myself in a prospective new manager's shoes ( chance would be a fine thing) I would want serious discussions with Parish on resources before committing to Palace.
From our all conquering team last season we've lost Eze, Guehi and this summer will lose Mateta and Kamada - that's 4 key players.
I would want assurances on Wharton, Munoz, Lacroix and Henderson.
You can't expect to sell your best players, fail to replace them adequately and expect to stand still, let alone go forwards.
The simple fact is that we will be weaker in the summer than this time last year.
I may be wrong, but I don't see us spending another £100 million in the summer, and even if we did the evidence of recent purchases does not inspire confidence.
Accordingly, it's really important that we don't sell more key assets.

If players are pushing to go, you can't stop them. There is a difference in selling a key player and not being able to hold onto them, due to contract clauses and getting the best price you can.
We are down the food chain and if a City, Utd, Arsenal turn a players head, they go, its gone on for years.

Does anyone know if Kamada has been offered a new contract or he has said he wants to go?

If it's any consolation there are 80 odd league clubs who look at us the same way. Strange as it seems we are big time Charlies to them.

I disagree.
We held on to Zaha when he pushed to join Everton and Arsenal.
We got another year out of Olise when Chelsea met his buyout.
Wharton has a few more years on his contract, as does Lacroix.
I believe Munoz signed a new contract last season.
We haven't had players down tools to force moves, although that possibility can't entirely be discounted in the future.

To go back to the original point any ambitious new is unlikely to be too keen to join a club which potentially loses 6 or so key players, including those sold in the last year.

In a trice we would be playing Croydon Trams. 😉

I suggest that was more a case of Olise deciding he didn't want to join a basket case of a club that Chelsea had become and continues to be. Just because a club meets the release clause figure, it doesn't mean the player automatically goes. The final decision in such situations rests with the player and Olise is no mug. The lad has had his head screwed on from an early age hence his insistence on the inclusion of release clauses in his contracts until he got the big move he wanted (Bayern).

You're putting your own interpretation on his motivation which may or may not be valid.
It's equally plausible (and speculative) that he wanted another year at Palace to continue his development in the knowledge that he would probably be in more demand the following year and that how it eventually worked out.

To go back to the central point, just because a bigger club comes calling it doesn't mean we have to sell a key player, in particular in the absence of a release clause and if the player has a lengthy period remaining on his contract.
I doubt ambitious managers will be attracted to join a club that actively looks to sell it's best assets.
Parish has managed to sell no more than one key asset each window and I hope that continues.

I don't know! However if you believe clickbait he was but stated his wish to leave so there was no point in any negotiations.

However I still hope he will change his mind. If I was him I would not be in a rush to sign a new contract until I knew who the new manager was and if they wanted him.

So let's hope.

i strongly suggest it was his astute agent that got the release clauses added in every contract - do you really expect a 17 year old Olise to insist on a release clause at Reading?

As for Chelsea, it i was clearly his agent tipping Chelsea off regarding the release clause, as how else did they know its exact amount? This put the agent in a very strong position and enabled him to double his client's salary, whilst agreeing to a higher release clause for Palace.

The agent then touted Olise around the next year as he knew the release clause had a champions league clause that made Palace powerless to stop him going.
His agent actually got banned in April that year, but it is delayed for 3 months as he had a large deal being finalised in the next transfer window. Who do you think that was?

Back to managers - i would love Iraola, however, despite Bournemouth's great season i notice they are top of goals conceded from corners and also have given away more points when leading than any other team. Therefore, he will fit in quite well in with Palace !!!
