Just Steve hedging his bets. He's as much in the dark as the rest of us.Iraola drifting at betvictor from even money to 9-4, Thomas Frank now 2-1 Favorite with them.
Betfair have Iraola at 10/1 ON! Someone knows something methinks! Very odd (pardon unintentional pun) that bookies are not in accord.Iraola drifting at betvictor from even money to 9-4, Thomas Frank now 2-1 Favorite with them.
If players are pushing to go, you can't stop them. There is a difference in selling a key player and not being able to hold onto them, due to contract clauses and getting the best price you can.Putting myself in a prospective new manager's shoes ( chance would be a fine thing) I would want serious discussions with Parish on resources before committing to Palace.
From our all conquering team last season we've lost Eze, Guehi and this summer will lose Mateta and Kamada - that's 4 key players.
I would want assurances on Wharton, Munoz, Lacroix and Henderson.
You can't expect to sell your best players, fail to replace them adequately and expect to stand still, let alone go forwards.
The simple fact is that we will be weaker in the summer than this time last year.
I may be wrong, but I don't see us spending another £100 million in the summer, and even if we did the evidence of recent purchases does not inspire confidence.
Accordingly, it's really important that we don't sell more key assets.
Does anyone know if Kamada has been offered a new contract or he has said he wants to go?Putting myself in a prospective new manager's shoes ( chance would be a fine thing) I would want serious discussions with Parish on resources before committing to Palace.

If it's any consolation there are 80 odd league clubs who look at us the same way. Strange as it seems we are big time Charlies to them.If players are pushing to go, you can't stop them. We are down the food chain and if a City, Utd, Arsenal turn a players head, they go, its gone on for years.

In a trice we would be playing Croydon Trams. 😉Putting myself in a prospective new manager's shoes ( chance would be a fine thing) I would want serious discussions with Parish on resources before committing to Palace.

I suggest that was more a case of Olise deciding he didn't want to join a basket case of a club that Chelsea had become and continues to be. Just because a club meets the release clause figure, it doesn't mean the player automatically goes. The final decision in such situations rests with the player and Olise is no mug. The lad has had his head screwed on from an early age hence his insistence on the inclusion of release clauses in his contracts until he got the big move he wanted (Bayern).I disagree.
We held on to Zaha when he pushed to join Everton and Arsenal.
We got another year out of Olise when Chelsea met his buyout.
Wharton has a few more years on his contract, as does Lacroix.
I believe Munoz signed a new contract last season.
We haven't had players down tools to force moves, although that possibility can't entirely be discounted in the future.
To go back to the original point any ambitious new is unlikely to be too keen to join a club which potentially loses 6 or so key players, including those sold in the last year.
You're putting your own interpretation on his motivation which may or may not be valid.I suggest that was more a case of Olise deciding he didn't want to join a basket case of a club that Chelsea had become and continues to be. I don't know! However if you believe clickbait he was but stated his wish to leave so there was no point in any negotiations.Does anyone know if Kamada has been offered a new contract or he has said he wants to go?
i strongly suggest it was his astute agent that got the release clauses added in every contract - do you really expect a 17 year old Olise to insist on a release clause at Reading?I suggest that was more a case of Olise deciding he didn't want to join a basket case of a club that Chelsea had become and continues to be. As a non betting person, does 10/ 1 on mean he is likely or unlikely coming to us ?Betfair have Iraola at 10/1 ON! Someone knows something methinks! Very odd (pardon unintentional pun) that bookies are not in accord.
