I honestly think that we’ll get at a younger manager who will recognise what a good stable, supportive environment Palace can provide. I hope it’s Iriola. But wouldn’t be disappointed if it was Lampard.

I think we’re a very attractive proposition for any young manager.
I would be even more disappointed if it were Wayne Rooney, who is also in the market for a job in Management (even though he has proved beyond reasonable doubt that he can't). My concern is that any new Manager has to cope with SP, who really just wants a team head coach who has noting to do with transfers in or out. This has been based on antecedent evidence, meaning many good managers will be put off coming here as they want to protect their own reputation going forward which is difficult to do under the current regime. The summer transfer window is going to be so important and needs a lot of clever management of in and out's something which SP just does not have!

My favoured option would have been at least to enquire about Fabregas availability. He's doing well at Como.
Sadly, so well Como have recently moved into a Champions League position so I'd doubt that he'd be interested even if we could offer him EL football next year. Which currently we cant.
I was keen on Iraola but never thought we had much of a chance. No one else on that list really fills me with any excitment. I'm Hoping the club has someone with real potential and ability that none of us have thought of. Like when the name Oliver Glasner popped up 3 years ago!

Definitely think the Southampton manager should be looked into as a possible candidate. As maybe does the Norwich manager (Clement), he has turned them around and watching the highlights from yesterday they could have had 4 or 5 against Millwall.

Moments in time in the division below, half a good season doesn’t do it for me

He wouldn’t be my first choice - but I don’t understand the extreme negativity from some around Lampard. He’s only 47 and clearly what he has done at Coventry in a short period of time shows the football world that he is developing as a Manager. Is there room for further improvement? Of course, but what’s to say he couldn’t do just that and be a brilliant manager for the right club.

We need to recognise that a club like ours is not going to attract a top name, and if we did he’d be unlikely to hang around for long. (Just like Ollie).
An up and coming manager might just be a chance worth taking and I don’t think Lampard, Fabregas, McKenna etc. have reached their ceiling yet.

Time will tell.
