It would be great... But just can't see it happening.

Think our only chance would be if we win the conference league... But even then Bournemouth could well qualify for the Europa League themselves. I'd also say they have a better overall squad and are heading into a summer where they're less likely having to sell their key players. We however are likely to lose Munoz, Mateta and quite possibly Wharton. With I'm sure some sniffing around Lacroix and Sarr!

Our one trump card over Bournemouth is they are hamstrung by low future income. Size of stadium, size of fanbase and therefore matchday income mean the new squad rota rules will always see them as a 'small' premier league club. He has performed miracles there but they will not be able to keep working the oracle

That sounds relatively unlikely in footballing terms. However, he may want that for personal reasons. Bournemouth and Palace probably pay about five times more too. I'm just guessing but bet I'm not far off.
I agree, you would think he’s looking a bit higher than that. But that was the chatter in the week. Has Bilbao got a nice beach? Otherwise he might as well stay at Bournemouth 🤣

I think Eddie Howe should be on the list given the ridiculous noise coming out of Toon which, given his success there is bewildering. Or is he beyond us now?

They finished 5th in the PL last season and won the League Cup.
This year they are currently 14th having spent over £200 Mill in pre-season, so they haven't hit the heights of the last campaign.
Conceding 7 goals at Barcelona, followed by a home defeat to deadly-rivals Sunderland hasn't lightened the mood !

I would be delighted beyond belief if we could convince Iraola to come to the Palace.

I I think it’s unlikely- but I felt like that when we got Ollie in ……so who knows.

Eddie Howe is a very good manager and IF Newcastle were stupid enough to sack him I’d be more than happy to see him at Palace if Iraola turned us down.

I can't settle on any personal favourite. Of the more popular forum names Iraola does seem to regularly reconstruct his teams after mass-sellings, and, his teams generally play eye-pleasing football, but, Bournemouth are not any better off points-wise, than us, started really well this season, had a horrible slump and now on a good long unbeaten run. Sound familiar?
Howe ? If indeed he is actually a choice at all. Seems to be good when aöö the stars alignin his favour but track record doesn't suggest he particularly apt at game management when there is a headwind. Sound familiar? Either now or at Bournemouth previously.
This is why I am unable to pick a favourite. Look at all the names, they all have success and failures; this is the trainer merry-go-round.
I also don't go along with the media hype of "elite trainers"Give one of them a squad like ours or worse (and there are plenty of them) and then let's see how good they are in different circumstances.
I think, on balance, i would go for Ted Lasso.

It's just been annouced that Iraola is leaving Bournemouth at the end of the season. Could this be the sign he will take over?

Yep. But not at Palace. Of the current top 6, only Emery is certain to be staying in his job. And, of course, there may be options in Europe, though salary may limit a move there. He has done a wonderful job at Bournemouth - they have sold 250 million pounds worth of players since last summer - and deserves a shot at a top club
