My gripe with Glasner

I've looked at the table last year at a similar time in December 2024 and Forest sat fourth with a similar record to our current record.
They fell away eventually and it will be a tall order for us to retain fourth position (as well as a remarkable achievement).

It's not a fluke where we are.
We are in the top 6 over the course of the calendar year and a hard team to beat on the back of our great defence.

Adding a couple of very good players in January could be the difference between finishing in the top 6 or slipping to mid table.
Does Parish stick or twist?
History suggests he will stick.

There is the worry that if Glasner keeps giving "I'm off" vibes that Parish won't want to spend the money on OG's choices in January as he might need to save the money for the new manager

I think he'll surprise us and twist.

No mater who the manager is or will be we don't operate that way.

A list of targets would have been put together they will attempt to go for either in Jan or the summer.

This has been confirmed this is how the club operates.

We have the new DF in place now be interesting to see if this window is a mess like so many others have been (If this DF even handles that side of things)

One of the big things is we got to clear out people and not loans either.

I do think someone will push for Guehi but not a large sum which I hope we reject and he ends up at someone outside England like Real Madrid (Be awful if he goes to another English team for 0)

Deep down he is Austrian with an Austrian mentality orders must be obeyed Holding disobeyed and got shafted , I don't think player development is his thing.
Germans are about obedience. Austrians are about rules. Sounds similar, and there's certainly an overlap, but it can be a huge difference. Think about it.

It seems to Glasner, signing up for an underdog club and leading it into uncharted territory is some sort of expedition. If you aim for Antartica, the moon or maybe the stars, who would you pick as a crew, given the fact that, if you add just one unreliable member, everyone might die?

My gripe? By making us Good At Football he's ruined supporting us forever once he moves on. How the f*** do we sit through some fat old English dinosaur who thinks the fans are c**** if we want more than 3 shots a game now?
I hope SP doesn’t go that route and looks at progressive managers. Although OG could be the freakish one. Manure and top clubs will give him such a wage he might struggle to say no !

I think even if he approved the signings, because it’s better than nothing, you can’t help but understand the frustration that Pinot and Kamada could have been on the bench last night and Eze and Olisse in our attack.

Does that mean Kamada and Pinot shouldn’t have been approved or signed? Definitely not. But we can’t keep winning and then replacing the players out with inferior players that wouldn’t make the team if our A listers stayed.

Where we genuinely could be without the Board restrictions is having our summer signings being our bench and a much bigger step up on Esse, Uche etc and then spending a further £100m to actually replace Eze and Olisse.

That is what I feel Glasner is referring to. He managed to somehow make Sarr so good we barely miss Olisse despite him being an inferior player, we are now asking him to do the same with Pinot, we tried to do the same with Canvot for Guehi and will likely ask him to do the same with a cheap bargain basement striker for Mateta.

Curse of his success with our inept Board. “Oh, you can turn dog turd into something decent, instead of reward, let’s keep giving you dog turd then”.
That is an opinion that not only runs counter to most sensible observers of the sport, but also to any sensible factual analysis.

Brentford, us and that other team are widely praised for our excellent work in the transfer market. And rightly so.

I don't know why the board are bothering trying to tie Glasner into another contract.
Glasner has consistently under-performed, in spite of being given all the financial backing he's asked for.
When Glasner walks, we'll probably pick-up Southgate, and everything will be rosy. 😀

If we somehow qualify for the champions league, can anyone see Glasner, Guehi, or anyone leaving, i cant even if it is only a one year extensions.

It's hard to know due to money unfortunately. I can imagine clubs approaching both in January and agreeing pre contracts.
Likewise, I can imagine CPFC piddling around until September to get a new (4th choice) Manager. 😀

Glasner likes to plan. CPFC like to react.
