My gripe with Glasner

Rak Saki and Uche?
These are players who risk losing possession when dribbling.
They are also the type of players who can beat a player and make or score a goal, its selecting a team for a match, should be first name on the team sheet against Shelbourne, and in all the previous Conference games, maybe not today, but he wont be against Shelbourne, we are coaching the flair out of the team.

I agree.
I wasn't making an assessment on their ability and think they at least deserve an opportunity.
I was trying to see it from Glasner's standpoint and that's why I referred to Pep seemingly not being entirely comfortable with Cherki's tricks.

It may work on occasions, but not enough to warrant it being used may well be the managerial view.

Pep and Glasner are all about efficiency wheras the fan loves flair (as long as it comeswith results)!

It's an age old debate encompassing the likes of Hoddle, Currie, Bowles,Le Tissier and even our own Zaha.

Holding and Ahamada
Indeed, these players were also excluded from Glasner's plans but the premise of my points related to the debate about whether Glasner had a reluctance to use flair players for reasons of not conforming to playing systems.
Holding and Ahamada don't fit this category.

I think this has become a clear certainty now, not saying its right or wrong.

Holding (these days) and Ahamada simply don't come up to PL standard - period.

That doesn't stop him using Devenny
Devenney did not have a good game last time out but it is difficult to impress when you only play a few minutes and have to play in different positions. When he has started for N. Ireland at left wing back he has looked their best atttacking player - admittedly a low bar - but does need to get a bit stronger. He takes all his country's dead balls and, honestly, he has impressed me more in that department than Wharton

Gripes will be aplenty if we succumb to a defeat at Fulham on the back of a laboured performance.
Even if we emerge victorious from the arena like Roman gladiators, we will face great difficulties in putting a stop to this troublesome phenomenon, to which the esteemed contributors to this website so often fall victim.

Team selection random
Tactics made on-the-hoof
I would have done it totally different, but then Glasner's lucky guesswork gets 3 points again. 😁

I have to confess I was scratching ny head when Glasner took both Nketiah and Mateta off at the same time - one of them, perhaps, but not both.
I assumed he was resting players and hoping for a point.

And yet we looked more fluent after the substitutions, frequently breaking down the flanks.
Pino seemed to.get more involved and found pockets of space and we did carry a threat.

It may be luck, but it could be just that Glasner knows what he's doing.

Treat them mean keep them keen. If I was a striker I’d be thinking whooaa going for a point with 20 mins to go.
Then look more threatening. JPM not at the races lately with his misses adding up .

I've looked at the table last year at a similar time in December 2024 and Forest sat fourth with a similar record to our current record.
They fell away eventually and it will be a tall order for us to retain fourth position (as well as a remarkable achievement).

It's not a fluke where we are.
We are in the top 6 over the course of the calendar year and a hard team to beat on the back of our great defence.

Adding a couple of very good players in January could be the difference between finishing in the top 6 or slipping to mid table.
Does Parish stick or twist?
History suggests he will stick.
