My gripe with Glasner

Even Glasner says that. Problem was that we all saw was his performance in the cup v Millwall. You can't risk that kind of showing.

Some players need a run in the team to settle down and find their form. Esse doesn't strike me as the type who will make a good impact sub.

During AFCON OG should at least give him a go and if it doesn't work out then we know to ship him out in the summer.

I really dont get our USA shareholders. All three are billionaires many times over. So why buy into a Premier club that clearly needs on going investment to add value, but then stop?
I appreciate we are nowhere near sharing the insider detail, but from the outside, there seems to be little advance planning to support our growth. Mr Blitzer (or was it Mr. Harris?) said after the Cup victory that he would be right behind Palace's future plans. Yet we have since sold more than we spent.
Im really hoping that in preparation for this January we have made advanced plans to bring in at least £50-100m of new players in preparation for the likelihood of Mateta and Guehi departing in 2026.
All our transfer activities seems to be knee jerk reaction to sudden departure that we were so unprepared for. (Eze). Laughable. Like the Guehi saga. Had we spent say £60-100m last summer we would have got Diamonte and good cover upfront in the event Guehi and Eze moved on which was constantly on the table all summer.
Ok we had all the turbulence of Textor selling and UEFA issues in the summer, but we are very settled now, we are 5th in the Premier League and our manager and club desperately needs support to continue our extraordinary climb to new heights. Full support. And you have to provide that if we want him to stay, which we all obviously do to build on his fantastic success to date.
To add to our strengths, we secured Woody Johnson as Textor's replacement. So come on our American shareholders, 'show us the money' and watch your club rise to new heights. You know it makes sense.

All of our starting 11 against Burnley have some level of international experience, be it full internationals, subs, or youth. Seems like this is the experience required to mount any reasonable type of challenge on the league or Europe.

I suppose we shouldn’t grumble, at least our best eleven is a good team when we’ve got the energy. A club our size is never going to have a big squad of top quality premier league players, we’re not Man City Chelsea or Arsenal.

I bet wolves would like our best eleven even when we’re running on empty 🤣

Agreed we are not at their level, but our shareholders could easily help us compete at a level that will ensure we stay in the top 5 which almost certainly would mean Champions league. We are owned by some seriously wealthy Americans with huge experience in owning top level sports clubs. We are currently right on the cusp of reaching for the stars. We have got a hugely successful manager and some great players. We just need a few more to deliver all our dreams.

I can't explain this rationally but even though we are 5th I feel "flat".

Perhaps it's because we have been poor in the last few games. It's odd that even under Roy when we were grinding out results I never felt this way. perhaps because nicking a result was the level of my expectation.

I blame Glasner, he has given me that most dangerous of all football feelings, hope.

Anyway I am sure normal service will be resumed shortly, Glasner will leave in a huff, JP, Wharton, Munoz and Guehi will be gone by the summer so we can all relax and look forward to a relegation battle next year.

Under Glasner, we have at times looked capable of scoring with any of our numerous attacks, against any opponent, regardless of their current or historical success. We’ve also looked deserving of winning every match we play.

Winning the FA Cup and playing in Europe is the ultimate p!ss-take. Fans of clubs like ours should cherish pipe dreams and be allowed to have them exist as such.

An overinflated and delusional expectation of success, coupled with the angst of falling out of the Champions League places, has been a mind-bending suffering for me.

A return to the slight hope of beating Crewe in our Saturday afternoon game would be a far more familiar and comfortable experience for me. Always easier getting into the ground too.

Simpler times.

Ollie can see the same as us, outside of our best eleven, there’s not a lot of top class quality to call on, hence his comments in a recent interview
Even Burnley looked stronger after their changes the other night, we usually look weaker when the substitutions start

I think that’s a strong point in that smaller clubs like us can look better when making changes even if we don’t have the bigger sides squads. We got away with it against Burnley with our changes looking as weak as those replaced and out of position. Devenny was like a headless chicken and the others passed as badly as those replaced? Canvot being an exception as he played in a position he knows. We were there for the taking and they screwed it thankfully
