Mateta

As I mentioned above the choice between club and player was to play. How they didn't understand that his dodgy knee would not get picked up in a rigorous medical suggests management living in fantasy land. But this is Steve "couldn't get it over the line" Parish we're talking about. Would you buy a used car from Parish?
Parish's street cred must have tumbled tonight.

He has made his bed, now he can lay in it, i never want to see him in a Palace shirt again, even if it means not buying Larsen.
What is important is winning games.

I'm happy for Mateta to continue in a Palace shirt as long as he scores goals.
If his injury has reduced his ability then it's obvious that we need an alternative, which for better of worse appears to be Larsen.

There is no player loyalty.

I will insert ....... Nobody at Palace comes out of this with any credit.

i personally don't think JP, his agent or Milan come out of this well too.

All 3 knew there was a minor(?) issue with the knee and so checks could have been made in advance - surely scans etc could have been shared once a fee was agreed etc.

In terms of the medical - he didn't fail it, as technically it is not a pass or fail, merely Milan has chosen not to progress the deal for now.

Maybe this has as much to do with them not moving their ex Chelsea striker on, as opposed to JP's knee - who knows!!

No way, he will destroy the dressing room, loan him to a Turkish team, sell him in the Summer, Turkey or U21s, World cup year

He would have shown its no more than a niggle , this has been said before by players not wanting to be dropped , covering up there injury , think it was a article about 3/4 years ago , the player is in charge of his body , he should have said its more than a niggle and can't play , but it was world cup season he wanted to play regardless of injury

That's a decision for the club, but Mateta has to knuckle down for his own sake.

Don't forget we didn't think twice about Munoz op ,
my son said there was a rumour about players not happy with him in changing room , but unconfirmed ,

Milan knew about his injury before hand , why is it the club's fault we didn't push him on them , you can't cry foul about something that was general knowledge , I go with they looked and went no not taking the risk , and who was leaving isn't , so its all Milan

It’s only a flesh wound!

You couldn't make this s*** up! IF he needs knee surgery, as now reported, where was the Palace medical team in all of this, or is it an excuse fo pulling the plug with his inexperienced agent. In any event he really is damaged goods and it is another classic Palace farce in a transfer window. It looks like amateur hour in Soho, even though we might never find out the real story. It just piles on the notion that the club is all over the place.
I thought he knew he had a knee issue. Similar to Munoz who had the balls to get it done. Probably advised to get it done but thought he knew better. He could have got it done when Munoz had his and pretty much affected nothing we have done anyway. Karma has bitten him as World Cup gone and despised by his own fans. What a tart !

Larsen is obviously being bought as a Mateta replacement.

So I would have thought that Mateta is either leaving on loan or....if his knee actually requires it entering knee surgery....but if that happens a buying club would want to see him scoring goals again....and that's a tight window.

The potential for Palace to lose out here is obvious.
