Where?I am trying to imagine the look on the players faces as Mateta reports in for training.

You couldn't make this s*** up! IF he needs knee surgery, as now reported, where was the Palace medical team in all of this, or is it an excuse fo pulling the plug with his inexperienced agent. In any event he really is damaged goods and it is another classic Palace farce in a transfer window. It looks like amateur hour in Soho, even though we might never find out the real story. It just piles on the notion that the club is all over the place.

Medicals before a transfer are a different animal, need to keep your insurers happy. You couldn't make this s*** up! One report, can't find it now, reckoned his agent was demanding they pay higher wages. You couldn't make this s*** up! Should go full John Sitton. He was the boy for a halftime rant.Think the film was mike Bassett England manager not sure. Would I go like this.
Mateta casually walks into dressing room.
Bassett. Hello, forget your toothbrush.
Mateta stands there with a complete I don't understand look.
Bassett. Can I help yer son.
Mateta. Fantastique. Fantastique.
Bassett. You don't work here no more lad.
Mateta. BOOM. Fantastique. Fantastique. Whist tucking his shirt in his shorts
Bassett. Now do us a favour and f*** off.
Mateta. Strolls out his sorry arse out the door, meanwhile continuing the Fantastique monologue down the hallway.
Bassett. Turns round to other players. Anyone else.?

What makes you think we have insurance on our players injuries?Medicals before a transfer are a different animal, need to keep your insurers happy.

I will insert ....... Nobody at Palace comes out of this with any credit.Agree the whole thing stinks.
JP has a minor knee injury which is being managed (similar to Munoz's we are told).
Why ask for a move under these circumstances? When a club is interested make sure they are aware of the issue before negotiations get too advanced.
Supposedly Italian club medicals are very thorough. Well the knee issue was always going to be identified so it shouldn't have been a surprise.
Palace's role in this is not great too - medics should have shared info early to mitigate any late issues.

He should be reporting to hospital to get his knee sorted for his own good.I am trying to imagine the look on the players faces as Mateta reports in for training.

The last one who advised him to stop kicking corner flags hasn't helped. He should be reporting to hospital to get his knee sorted for his own good.
What are we doing with our players welfare???

I used to work for Zurich and there was a very busy department looking after sports risk contracted and retail, rugby too, but the big risk insurance management was football. What makes you think we have insurance on our players injuries?

As I mentioned above the choice between club and player was to play. How they didn't understand that his dodgy knee would not get picked up in a rigorous medical suggests management living in fantasy land. But this is Steve "couldn't get it over the line" Parish we're talking about. Would you buy a used car from Parish? He should be reporting to hospital to get his knee sorted for his own good.

We have all deduced that Mateta has been playing presumably on painkillers to support his dodgy knee, when for months he has really needed an op. So to go out to Italy for a transfer medical is nothing short of totally insane management decision. Just watching him in the video clip, he looked like a lame donkey.
Any ideas where this leaves us tonight? (ignoring the egg on the face of our management.)
