One factor is a given Mateta going to Milan , Juventus whoever else for a paltry £30m is a joke especially given the figure being banded around Larsen at circa £50m.

Mateta should be at least valued at similar £50m.

Palace need to stop selling players on the cheap when other teams typically push for the optimum price.

But our players are always unsettled and looking for a move. That's where we need to be stronger. Agent talk of a move elsewhere, ban the agent. Player talk of going without our permission - U21s. Make sure it's in the contracts properly. Notice how the same does not come out of other clubs, in general. Nothing like it does at ours.
I've said it before - what the f*** are our players doing on the phone to other managers? We need to wise up and get much harder on this.

I think theres not a whole lot we can do. Olise and Eze had release clauses. Marc Guihe wouldn't sign a contract extension either.

I'd be surprised if Wharton doesn't have a release clause in his contract now.
 
Imagine being on over 50k a week and telling your boss you cant deal with the noise around you potentially leaving for another job with a pay rise so you cant come into work for 1.5hrs...

I thought this. JPM being a prat and thinking he is better than us and how good he actually is and club showing we will move on in a blink. He’s hardly Olise is he.

I’ve also been thinking that Eddie the injured, as poor as he’s been for us, if he had the same run (or should I say ‘hobble’) of games as mateta, he puts at least half of them away.

As I type this… Ollie just said mateta not involved Sunday
 
So, as it stands, we go into a key game on Sunday without a recognised striker and without a replacement for Guehi. Shall we also tie Henderson's hands behind his back and loan Munoz to Bromley?

Not necessarily.

Mateta will go if it benefits us. If we don't get deals we like, then he stays.

We need a replacement for Guehi and no doubt other deals are dependent on the Mateta situation.

I'd rather keep Mateta than sign Larsen. He will be playing for the World Cup.
