Mateta

Reporting in Italy that Milan have a deal agreed at EUR 30m + some addons too for Mateta.
I think he needs to go and they want him out so maybe accepting a lower offer and happy he is not going to a prem rival? I support both teams so i am pretty conflicted about it all!!
He will do well it Italy though i think!

Would take Pavlovic or Tomori as part of the deal tbf! I genuinely cant see Parish turning down £35 mil and accepting €30 mil though!!

Im totally confused with the transfer saga in general , going to forest is a no go cant get any of his dreams there , get villa , loosely spuds , but if milan is not paper talk then 30m is good would be good if we get a player to , Think all this is being driven by his agent was he Bostocks agent by any chance , tell him your dreams and goes for the highest payout for him not whats best for you

Posted this before. Scroll down to see the players he represents. He hasn't got a lot of options to make any money from transfers/improved contracts.

I think what we have is a lot of heat and very little light. Lots of talk of clubs being ‘interested’ but no actual firm offers it seems. Even if there have been offers it the goes quiet very quickly so could be clubs discuss wages and when they’ve stopped p***ing themselves laughing they tell JPM’s agent to do one.

Certainly looks like all the Strand Larsen stuff was a bit of us going ok then JPM off you go if you want and him finding out nobody was actually that interested.

Having said that he’ll probably sign for some random Turkish club tomorrow

Well that makes a lot of sense then.

According to that link he has two players including Mateta and the other guy is a left back that plays for a club in the fourth tier in France.

No wonder then why Mateta is suddenly wanting a big money move!

Darren Ambrose was on Sky saying JPM has only recently taken this bloke on. He might be a hugely efficient and ethical operator but he might equally be a clueless guesser who's trying to make some quick money and is completely out of his depth.

it shows he is either not interested in the players wishes and cant get anyone or he is new , think he sold Mateta a dream , with no history he believed him , lots of players fall for it and get bad moves

Reading between all the confusing lines I wonder if Milan’s interest in Mateta and willingness to wait til the summer if need be is the catalyst, along with the Guessand loan, for dropping interest in Strand-Larsen. If Mateta is happy to stay til summer so he can get his dream move to Italy it might free up money to bring in Charlie Cresswell or some other centre back.

No disrespect to Mateta or any other footballer, but in general they are not the brightest of people. Hence we read lots of stories about them losing money due to ill-advised investment opportunities. I have personal experience of being in a meeting with a (then) Premiership footballer who had his agent with him when he came into the bank. The agent seemed to want an inflated loan rate that the bank would pay him a commission out of. We passed on the deal. The player could have got a far cheaper rate by walking into any bank without his agent. I appreciate that the player could afford any rate but that is not the point.

Sad but true gone are the days when they would be building a carrier outside of football in case the worst happens , could you see a manager telling his player to finish his collage or uni like coppell was told , now its finish your 2 times tables and if we have time we will move onto 3s

No wonder it's so easy for agents to mug them off.
80/20? Your favour? My favour? It's all the same. Could you put the phone down and sign here? What? Really? OK then, I'll sign it for you.
