Mass Deportations to begin.

Those who believe the idea that Democrat administrations are protecting criminals perhaps ought to read this, from today’s BBC pages:-

“As the Trump administration appears poised to conduct immigration raids in dozens of cities, Illinois Governor JB Pritzker said he's afraid some immigration authorities "will not follow the law".

Speaking to Dana Bash on CNN's State of the Union on Sunday, Pritzker - a Democrat who is seen as a possible 2028 presidential contender - said he supported efforts to remove violent criminals from his state, and from the country.

“Let me start by being clear that when we’re talking about violent criminals who’ve been convicted and who are undocumented, we don’t want them in our state. We want them out of the country. We hope they do get deported, and if that’s who they’re picking up, we’re all for it,” he said.

But, Pritzker added, he found it "disturbing" that officials have indicated they would be targeting "law-abiding" residents as well, those "who are holding down jobs, who have families here, who may have been here for a decade or two decades, and they’re often our neighbors and our friends".

“Why are we going after them?” he said. “These are not people who are causing problems in our country, and what we need is a path to citizenship for them.””
So for clarity the 3,000,000+ deported during Obama's term were all criminals.

And the 12 million under Clinton and 10 million under Bush?

Context is everything here. Obama concentrated on criminals and returned recent arrivals. Some many times.

Trump is targeting everyone. No one is going to object to the removal of known criminals, provided due process is properly implemented.

Is the claim then that 25,000,000 criminals were deported under earlier administrations but only this one includes others? Doesn't the fact they're there illegally make them criminals anyway?

Well it’s not happening here. Given her background how can the Judge be considered impartial

Judges are paid to be impartial and could lose their job if they aren’t. Only they have access to all the information. Not the Mail. As the original Judge came to the same conclusion she would have been ruling on a point of law.

That said I doubt whether this will be the end of the matter and some way will be found to remove him whilst providing adequate support for the child.

Being separated from the child wasn't foremost in his mind when he risked imprisonment for selling drugs.

Asylum seekers are not criminals.

That there were 25 million incidents doesn’t mean that 25 million people were involved.

There has been a problem for years which could have been mitigated with another approach. One that blended the obvious need for labour with the desire of so many to reach the land of the free! Temporary working visas with effective controls and monitoring of whereabouts ought to be possible in today’s digital world.

Sure.

amazing what can be accomplished in 7 days. My sense is the majority of Americans are quietly content with how things have transpired.

There will always be some negative press or collateral damage as the scale of the task is mind blowing! The criminal element has been targeted first yet certain people still cry foul.

It’s the same people who want to defund the police yet call 911 (American) when an illegal is ransacking their home!

Absolutely no chance he will be removed. ECHR right to family life.

Sure.

It’s a fair summary of a problem that’s existed for years and won’t just disappear. Not just in the USA either. We live in a changed world where the only constant is more change.

The USA remains the primary target as the world’s most successful economy that has been built on immigration and its bountiful natural resources.

Carry on as it is and that attractiveness will decline and reverse on its own. So they have no need to worry. They are on the right path by default.

Why an illegal?

Statistically it’s very unlikely to be an illegal as natural born citizens far outnumber them and, per head, are twice as likely to be involved in criminal activity.

If you truly want to reduce crime then removing locally born criminals to Alaska makes more sense. Put them in chains to clear the snow and dig for rare earth minerals. Solves the Greenland “problem “ too!

It's convenient that all these desperate asylum seekers can find sanctuary in the world's richest economy.
