Mass Deportations to begin.

Now we know why no GP, appointments available !!
If true then we need to refocus our efforts away from the political manoeuvring over the small boat problem and onto the real one. Because buried in that article is this statement from the Telegraph’s coverage of the actual report:-

“It suggests most illegal migrants arrived in the UK on work, study or visitor visas and then overstayed”.

If that’s really happening then that’s a gross failure by the Home Office to ensure visa requirements are adhered to, that people remain where they say they are and exit when they say they will. Many visas demand that a return ticket be purchased before entry is allowed, so the airlines need to be involved too. Employers, universities and the sponsors of visitors need to keep track and either put up deposits or accept being fined if their employee/student/visitor defaults on their obligations.

That’s not to suggest we ignore the small boat issue but if overstaying is really happening at this level it’s not receiving the attention and actions necessary to rectify it and that’s the fault of the Home Office.

Not sure that is true. To benefit from 'free' treatment you need to be an ordinary resident in the UK

Hospital treatment is free to people who are "ordinarily resident" in the UK. To be considered ordinarily resident and entitled to free hospital treatment, you must be living in the UK on a lawful and properly settled basis for the time being.

Likewise when registering a child for school, when the birth certificate and proof of local residency is required, or when either buying or renting property when ID is needed.

That's all very well but even if the total quoted is twice the real one that's still a lot of people managing to circumvent the system. They must be living somewhere.

Whilst I agree that the massive number of illegal immigrants over here is getting out of hand, I do not think a total mass deportation is totally the right way to go about it either, especially when it comes to the children.

I have some Hispanic kids in my class who I am quite sure have some illegals in their family, and it is just hard to think about their whole family being ripped away from them due to them not being born here.

Tough call to make either way but taking into account all the mental and emotional turmoil all this could put on the children affected by it, should be at the forefront of the thinking.

Won't be a popular answer, but remember what came to light during the Grenfell disaster?

There were quite a number of people found to be living there who were not the registered tenants.

Mass deportations of Americans are to take place predominantly from BRICS countries shortly.

'We want our lives back'.

'Worse even than the British were'.

'Take your economic sanctions with you'.

That's some reward for all we have done in the name of oil, I mean freedom and democracy and certainly not genocide, anywhere OMG.

😵

You think countries can live without oil?

Why is the west condemned, yet no one else?....I mean have a look around who isn't interested in acquiring resources Steely? No standard of living otherwise. I mean you yourself came back to this country as the older guy.....I rather doubt it was for a downgrade in your life was it.

Everyone wants to suck on the teat....that's one thing....but having the gall to complain about the taste is another.

Yes. But they also need jobs, doctors, schools for their kids, etc.

I have no idea whether the figure is correct but those who produced it sound respectable although the outcome feels implausibly large.

Hiding so many in the black economy doesn’t feel possible. Maybe they are only counting the incomers but have no way of knowing who left as they should.

Not when 1 in 10 work in it.
