They will hide behind the religious slogan nonsense. As I said he should have refused to wear it and then the FA would have been on very thin ice, given the Ipswich Captain, if they chose to charge him

On the bbc's rolling football news, someone has said, it is hypocritical for him not to wear the rainbow armband because of his religious beliefs but it was fine when playing for Middlesboro' who had 'BET32' as their shirt sponsor, as betting is also against his religious beliefs.

Apparently are not going to charge him but remind him of the rules regarding the showing of religious statements. Ffs. This is the FA falling over themselves to attract Middle Eastern money into the game and welcoming the WC being played in Qatar. Somewhat ironic that even after the laces, armbands and other demonstrations of support that there still hasn't been a current PL player who's come out. Why? If Palace signed Julian Clary and he scored loads of goals would anyone care what his preferences were?
