I seriously doubt Parish offered him 100k a week more...
I remember reading he was offered around 130k per week for 1 year extension
The guy was not interested he had already made up his mind he was leaving.

Liverpool fans fuming with Glasner. How dare anyone keep their own player when we deserve to pay whatever we like for him. These juvenile social media divs really annoy me. I’m glad I avoid it.
Exactly, he is leaving. Now he has to work out the last year of his contract in Palace. So, worst case: MG makes ~50k a week and leaves for nothing. Or: MG makes ~150k and leaves for 20mil (5 mil is the extra 100k). Who loses here. Are you saying Marc Guehi Next year would not get 20 mil?I remember reading he was offered around 130k per week for 1 year extension
The guy was not interested he had already made up his mind he was leaving.
Why not? He’s only on £50k a week. If it makes good business sense for a year to get a good selling price, don’t you think Parish would do it?I seriously doubt Parish offered him 100k a week more...
The refusal to consider any deals is Guehi led as opposed to Palace led and there is absolutely nothing Palace can do if it is in his mind to stick to his contractural terms.Exactly, he is leaving. This was my point exactly, but not only you have to pay the extra 100k, you need to make the release clause acceptable enough, so the power is on MG's side of the table. Why not? He’s only on £50k a week. If it makes good business sense for a year to get a good selling price, don’t you think Parish would do it?
Yes, until the window closed. Now we can negotiate on different terms. The refusal to consider any deals is Guehi led as opposed to Palace led and there is absolutely nothing Palace can do if it is in his mind to stick to his contractural terms.
Will it be £20 mil signing on bonus? I don’t know.Exactly, he is leaving. Now he has to work out the last year of his contract in Palace. So, worst case: MG makes ~50k a week and leaves for nothing. He only ever signed one contract with Palace, he has not been on the last year with Palace, so no he could not be offered this, since the thing I suggested is only possible for a player on his last year.He was offered this deal 2 years ago and again offered another one.
We have lost out badly Newcastle/Spurs around 70m and now 35-40m from Liverpool shocking.
We won the FA Cup with Guehi and before that he didn’t want to go to Newcastle or Spurs! How hard is that for you to understand? He was offered this deal 2 years ago and again offered another one.

Business side says he should have been sold, because now the worst case is no return. But we can still offer. Not the worst case for Parish and money for MG.Will it be £20 mil signing on bonus? I don’t know.
Maybe it’ll still be quite high with a low release clause plus the £100k x 40 weeks.
You don’t need to worry yourself because Parish solved this maths equation with Olise as he knows the deals. It’s doing buying business early he won’t do enough.

Mate you and I are coming closer to agreeing - which is scary..!!I said I wasn’t going to give my view on this window until it was over. So I’ll leave that for tomorrow when the picture is clearer.
To take your other points ;
“ No strategy, no plan “ I’m interested to know what yours would have been . Me, I would have wanted to add some players to the squad. We added four. I believe Glasner said he wanted four or five so that was delivered.
The UEFA saga - presumably then you would have just thrown the towel in as soon as it became an issue. Maybe you thought that we were part of a MCO ?? I don’t think Parish could win in that situation - he would either be adjudged as not having the character to challenge them or , as you have, said it was a waste of time.
“ Dancing around the transfer budget “ - if you haven’t realised by now that Palace is a tightly run ship then maybe that’s where that hole in your head is. I don’t claim to be an expert in the clubs finances but I do know that despite consistently losing money the club is considered to be financially stable.
I’ve already provided my view on why we could be dependent on incoming transfer revenue and I think you just choose to ignore it so I won’t bore you with a repeat.
I see little evidence on here that people are “ blinded “ when it comes to Parish. I think he’s made a pigs ear of the Guehi situation but guess what - he ain’t perfect. There are a lot of moving parts to transfers and it’s not difficult to end up in a less than optimal situation. But yes, I think he could have done better during this process.
Anyway, congratulations are due to you for predicting Parish’s procrastination. Maybe now you could stop reminding us on such a regular basis.
And this relates to Guehi how exactly?Mate you and I are coming closer to agreeing - which is scary..!!
Just to clear up/clarify a couple of points..
Agree - let’s wait until tomorrow - to see exactly who we have signed, who has gone before we rate the window..!!
On strategy and plan I’d of replaced players before outgoings - so been proactive rather than reactive books can always be balanced further down the line - example I’d of got Pino in before Eze left - Pino looks great by the way..!!
Europe - the moment Lyon were reinstated back into League 1 - we were cooked..!! Yes it’s corrupt £0.5Bn debt and paying Botafogo players out of the Lyon budget is just wrong - but we’re never winning that argument against a corrupt and heavily French bias UEFA..!! CAS were never going to overturn that decision - was complete fantasy - as difficult as it is to swallow..!!
Budget - as has been widely reported we are nowhere near breaching PSR rules - I strongly suspect our issue is that SP is not able to commit funds commensurate with his shareholding compared to the other shareholders. As I mentioned I don’t get the whole balancing the book thing - football clubs run on debt which is why they have Billionaire owners, and underwrite that debt, of which we have 3 - SP is not in the Billionaire category - hence I suspect the issue..!!
Transfer revenue - other clubs seem to ignore it - why are we so obsessed with it - when owned by 3 multi billionaires….!!
People are blinded by SP nostalgia and rhetoric - the amount of times I read but SP saved us in 2010 is unbelievable. What people are failing to see is as you quite rightly say is the “pigs ear” of not only the Guehi situation but this window as a whole..!! Which must bring into question his ability to take us forward..
I take no gratification in being proven right about SP’s procrastination - in fact the complete opposite - I’m just dumbfounded he doesn’t learn..!!
But as scary as it may seem - it seems largely we agree..!!
COYP..!!
Simply because this is the whole scenario that bought the whole Guehi situation about..!!And this relates to Guehi how exactly?
We won the FA Cup with Guehi and before that he didn’t want to go to Newcastle or Spurs! How hard is that for you to understand?
The handling of it this summer was bad but it was actually £35 minus £3.5 to Chelsea.
For the record, did you always want him sold and replaced, or have you just decided to argue we’ve lost out financially?
‘Lost’? Lost?????? Are you serious? We didn’t lose, we Won, we won the FA Cup, the Community Shield. We won the greatest moments in our lifetimes and moments many never lived to see!
But you would prefer we had sold him for £30m profit which we can spunk on one s*** player.
Nope. That was a rant about something else. Just because you feel it is relevant to this does not make it so.Simply because this is the whole scenario that bought the whole Guehi situation about..!!
Is it just me - but huh..??Nope. That was a rant about something else. Just because you feel it is relevant to this does not make it so.
Similarly anytime any finances are discussed that is the perfect time to mention, this guy does not make enough/should make more/should play for us/should not play for us etc.
Nope.
