Marc Guéhi

We should have taken the £60M and run last year when offers were on the table but we got greedy asking for more.
Then we probably wouldn’t have won the FA Cup or Community Shield and probably wouldn’t be in Europe… not saying Guehi was the deciding factor alone but we were a pretty outside chance to do what we did. If two years of Guehi and that success costs two Eddie Nketiahs is that the worst deal in the world?

Watching the interviews last night and seeing the reactions of Parish and Glasner, I honestly think Glasner has told Parish he won't extend his contract.
So Parish is keeping money back to rebuild with a new manager next summer. I suspect we'll see a (not ready) replacement for Eze and Guehi (if he goes) and that'll be it.

Where Guehi is concerned ,Parish, the club, have been put right on the spot.
If he won’t sign a new contract then for financial reasons it could be imperative to sell. Not easy to deal with.
The problem for a lot of fans including me is. The club knew they would face this situation from way back, not just Guehi, but Eze, and absolutely nothing has happened to replace either. It’s almost as if the clubs hands are tied behind their backs, even more of a worry if so. No body knows it seems, not even the manager,
He comes on TV clearly admitting he is left high and dry on these issues and not able to influence the situation.

In terms of the situation and both Eze and Guehi likely going you are absolutely right. I don’t subscribe to saying we have to sell before buying however. We have 3 billionaires as Board Directors who could easily make short term loans without falling foul of rules, (£90m headroom) so that we could have got replacements on board. That would have allowed smoother exits for both of those players and once the money came in we would know how much we would have left to bulk the squad as Glasner requested.

It’s not like no-one was going to buy Guehi and Eze, they are highly sought after and Parish could have still gone into negotiations with his hard hat on. Glasner would also have had a bit more of a warm fuzzy feeling rather than looking like a bulldog chewing a wasp.

I do agree, but you can lose negotiating strength selling first or buying first, especially with financial rules meaning sales are more crucial. The other thing is only Liverpool are interested in Guehi currently with their derisory offers.

Yep, except if Guehi didn’t go, having a replacement would mean we were covered properly for the season and would only need one CH rather than two. Eze was and is the sale that we needed cash wise.

It doesn't matter if you have billionaires why are people not understanding this.

The club already has loans.

Maybe people are not understanding here because they are ordinary and don't understand what you do when you have wealth something I do understand being a millionaire it's all invested (having money sit around is useless)

The owners ring fenced a lot of money which was suppose to go towards the stadium but because so much messing around happened most of it has gone this is the area wealthy should be improving and I found it poor that we had to bring in Tex to even push Academy. (This is why I never understood the hate for him but I guess someone had to be the bad guy and they wont ever make SP that)

Window is still open lets see what happens look at last season a lot of people was not happy and we got in likes of Sarr/LeCroix who have been great

Of course it matters if you have billionaires, they're worth 17 billion between them and when you're worth that much it really doesn't matter if its net wealth or personal wealth, you're incredibly rich.

Okay we have PSR, they can't just buy the league, I understand that, even tho we all know there's enough loopholes that if you really want to spend then you can, but they want the club to be self sufficient and run it's self, thats fair enough.

They can fund the stadium tho as like you said, textor funded the academy. Why this still hasnt happened is anyone's guess.

I think like someone else said, they're American investors who just want their money in English football to grow their own personal reputation, which doesn't really work for our club.

On the pitch we're more than capable of competing, off the pitch we're nowhere near most clubs in the league.

How much you got mate?
sending a message like that, I assume you are dying for someone to ask. 🤣

What a complete load of rubbish. “I’m a millionaire so therefore I know what billionaires do with their money”, I’ve never read such garbage. I’m a millionaire too, in fact a high proportion of Londoners who own a family home are millionaires but that is completely irrelevant as is your wealth statement.

The difference between being able and not being able to access money is liquidity and they will have some investments that are locked up tight but also some that are highly liquid so that they can access at short notice to take advantage of any business opportunities that arise. Loaning money temporarily to a business you are already an owner of is just another way of making interest on your money because let’s face it they ain’t going to do it for free, but in the circumstances it would have given their investment (Palace), a better opportunity to get the players they wanted in the market rather then messing around when the best ones have already gone.

These guys are not stupid, if they see an opportunity to improve their investment then they will take it and buying players is part of that. Their money along with 6 months or so interest will come back to them shortly after. If they are not there to back their investment then what are they there for in the first place.

So yes, of course they could have found money for loans if they wanted to, what do you think Marinakis has been doing at Forest?

I’m a multi millionaire, just saying.
But how much has Grumpy got?
If it’s less than 10 mill, I’d be shocked.
Also how much money would he need to get to , to change from grumpy to happy?

There is already £100m in directors loans outstanding, how much money do you want them to pour in? They aren't giving the money for free, it all has to be paid back, the only benefit is interest free.
Billionaires aren't fans, they are businessmen remember.

Did you actually read my post. They make loans and take interest. They don’t do it for free.
