Main Stand redevelopment thread

At my advanced age, one does not buy green bananas and one is never confident that ones buttocks will make contact with a new seat when not a brick has been laid in the development of the new structure.
It's one good reason to stay alive.

The pitch isn't being extended.
That would require demolishing part of the Whitehorse.

I don't know at what stage that will happen.

The pitch doesn't need extending
But that is in the plans. Right now, the Main Stand does not line up with the centre of the pitch. That is being corrected.

I think the extension of the pitch is part of new stand development, so a while to wait yet 😂
Yes.
I would imagine it will be done last in the closed season, along with the new terracing and seating for the Main Stand.

It's not being relaid as such. Works being done are:

  • Drainage Layer Up
  • Heating
  • Irrigation
  • Stitching
  • Partial Surrounds
Thanks for the more precise description. As the photo above shows no grass on the pitch Ill stick with relaid or dugup as a quicker one word and close enough description (for me anyway) until a better one comes along.

If you had read it you would know who wrote it the person name is on it.

You don't just have one plan you will be presented with multi ones.

Yes it can be as simple as switching how you do things you really need to go and speak to people in that industry.
I dont think it works like that on a project of this magnitude. Plus I think you'll find planning permission thats granted is public record. Have YOU seen an alternative planning application granted that involves the complete demolition of the existing stand and closure while the new one is rebuilt because I haven't. In fact nobody has because one does not exist. I think YOU need to go and speak with someone that knows the planning regulations. They are not going to give you permission for 'multi ones' as you put it.🙄

No it wouldn't. Our pitch apron on both the Holmesdale side as well as the Whitehorse side is slightly bigger than it has to be. By reducing both aprons it is possible to extend the pitch if necessary. Same goes for the apron on the Main stand side (but not the Arthur) so width could be extended too. If the club wanted to do so.

Why would there be a desire to extend the pitch ?

I did read somewhere that our pitch needs to be bigger for certain games (maybe internationals or European games?) Parish definitely said something like that a while back. No idea if the plan is to actually change the size of the pitch though.

The pitch size in 2024/25 season was/is fine for the UEFA Europa Cup, hence why I was asking the need for it to be bigger.
