Main Stand redevelopment thread

Said it before and will say it again this is huge vanity project on the part of Parish and will.never happen.
Utter nonsense.

It's happening. It has to happen.

Our ground may the traditional feel that a lot of fans like, but in truth it is nowhere near the standard or capacity required for a modern sports venue in London.
We have to aspire to at least 40k and proper player facilities and hospitality. 34k is a start.

The Sainsbury's end and the Arthur roof should be next.

It's been almost 9 years since this story 😳

Makes you wonder really, Villa have just announced plans to increase their North Stand, from 5k to over 12k. It'll be ready 2nd half of the 26/27 season in time for the Euro's in '28 which they are a host stadium . . .

I find nearly all other clubs get help from the local authority - whilst we get hassled. I'm always tempted to think that we should move to a different authority - one who recognises a Premier League football teams adds a lot to an area.
Imagine the businesses around the ground without Palace.

Like Crystal Palace National Park. Bout time our leaders woke up and took us home. We are an established Premier club now, carrying a fair bit of weight.

I’ve lost count of the number of times CPNP has been discussed on here.

Nothing to do with “ leaders waking up “ - do some online research as I can’t be bothered to repeat the reasons why this won’t happen

I cant imagine Birmingham Council are pouring money into Villa Park, they cant even get the local bins emptied.

One of the reasons never discussed is finance. Other clubs have moved by selling their old ground for development therefore creating a huge financial boost to developing a new ground. When Parish and Co purchased Selhurst Park from LLoyds, there was a clause that it would remian a football stadium, so it cant be sold for a housing development, making moving site virtually impossible.
