Loaned-Out Players

I'm in 2 minds over this. It's great that a loan player has done well. However if we recall him we leave Bromley in the lurch I'm not sure how that will go down.

Of course he is our player but a couple of years back we could not give our loan players away so we had to offer pay their wages. Now we have a successful loan we should be cultivating the relationship with Bromley for future players.

I suppose if a really good Championship club came in it would be worth it. Other than that i think I would keep him at Bromley until the end of the season.
Yes, a difficult one. I've rated Imray as a potential 1st team player from his very first game for the Academy. After a rocky start, Bromley are now comfortably placed in mid-table. I note that Imray usually plays the full 90 minutes, so his removal could upset their balance. However, if a good Championship team came in for him, it would be in our interests to recall him and give him that opportunity. If he performed well in the Championship, he'd be a good option as cover for Munoz or even his replacement if a top European club make us an offer for Munoz which Parish couldn't refuse.

maybe div 1 should be his next move - the championship is a big jump. No point letting him sign for another club and then maybe being restricted to a place on the bench.

The decision might come down to money - i suspect we are paying most of his wages at Bromley, a higher league club may pay it all.

However, you only have to look at the 2 highly rated boys we signed from Derby. Both have had a string of pretty poor/pointless loans so maybe playing regularly at a lower level trumps everything else.

With Ebiowei at Oxford Utd, i agree with you, but, Luke Plange at HJK Helsinki, i disagree, he's been playing for them in the Europa League & returns to Palace next week as his loan has now finished, so i wouldn't call that 'pointless'.

David Ozoh, who is at Derby, is still injured. Ahamada at Rennes is not even getting on the bench. Edouard, well, nuff said, tho he did make the bench v L'pool. Goodman(Wimbledon) & Whitworth(Exeter), continue to shine in goal for their respective clubs. Imray we have already discussed. Mathurin(Hartlepool) & Wells-Morrison(Wealdstone) have had differing half season loans, the former hardly featured, while the latter has been ever present, both have finished their loans.

Plange has been mainly used as a sub in Finland, which is a pretty average league, so i would say that's not a successful loan.

Previously he had very poor loans at Lincoln, Carlisle and in Belgium. He was clearly sent to Finland to get game time and score goals and hopefully get his confidence back. Coming on for 10 minutes here and there will not have achieved this.

So he was playing in the Championship when we purchased him for £1m. Since then he has had 4 loans in lower level leagues and has not been a success in any of them.

Concentrating on Danny Imray and the two goalkeepers, three successful loans are taking place. Personally, I would not want to move Danny Imray at this stage. When I last attended an Under 21 Match he was impressing not only supporters, but also his Mum who was in the crowd. I suspect that she may be attending Bromley matches. He is giving 90 minutes each match and only four points (two draws) have not been collected in the last six matches. Bromley are on 30 points with the top of League Two being 46, 37,36,35, 34,34,34,34,33, 31. This gives scope for a play off place at the end of the season, and a chance for automatic promotion. His joining the First Team at the start of next season having done that well, outweighs sending him elsewhere to possibly just warm a bench.

Whitworth and Owen are the same age and enjoying their football. Over the years a number of promising goalkeepers have been released. Two maturing at the same time will give OG a selection problem he will relish.

I hope all three stay where they are for the rest of this season.

Spoke to my mate that regularly goes bromley , says hes head and shoulders , the best player. They are saying he will be going on loan to Wycombe. That’s fast tracking him , without him , hopefully, being a bench warmer. Good move I think.

I’ll be at Wealdstone on NYD watching Boston United. I’ll keep tabs on Wells-Morrison if he’s playing.

Whilst researching the Wealdstone team I see that Adrian Mariappa is now plying his trade there (Aged 38) and Wayne Andrews is their Fitness and Conditioning coach.

Danny Imray has been outstanding for Bromley. Much better than that level, so makes perfect sense to loan him higher. Fully expect to see him involved with the first team next season.

Bit of an odd one. Always thought Div 2 was too low for him but unless Wycombe has an injury issue it is a bit strange that they are looking for reinforcements for the starting lineup as they are currently in second place. Mind you, if he does get in the team they should suit his attacking style. They have an astounding 31 goals in 12 away games: no other team has 20
