Loaned-Out Players

My boss is a DCFC fan and he thinks Ozoh is the nuts. He didn't look out of place last season when he came on vs Man City. We will see.
One of my friends up here in the Midlands is a Derby fan and he reckons that Ozoh was a key player for them early doors. Unfortunately, Ozoh's been injured for most of the season so far,

I keep an eye on how the loan players are doing and to me there are only a few which are showing promise.

Ozoh - unfortunately injured but was performing well for Derby
Imray - stand out for Bromley by all accounts, talk about him being sent to Wycombe for 2nd half of the season, which would really harsh on Bromley.
Whitworth - doing well at Exeter
Goodman - having a good season at AFC Wimbledon

The rest I'm not sure about at all, including Rak-Sakyi (who always means be subbed after 60mins and is now injured by the looks of it).

Some of the others maybe able cut a career out in football but probably at a lower level, like other academy players before then.

I think it is unlikely any of our current loan prospects will break into our first 11 any time soon. Imray looks good but playing in League 2 is very different from making it in the EPL. The mooted loan to a higher league would be a good step. Ozoh may have a chance if he can get back to fitness and given he’s still young. Of the others I don’t see it. The fact we’re looking at other young attacking players tells you the club don’t see JRS as making it at EPL level.

We’d clearly all love some academy players to break through into the team but it is so rare now in the EPL. Having players who are good enough at all for the professional game is still a sign of a good academy

Agree, wouldn't be signing Franca and trying for Doak if we already have the answer at home.

It annoys me when players go out on loan and don’t play. I thought the whole idea was the team that shows an interest does so because they’ve already assessed the player and wants them to play on a regular basis.

You can sit on a bench for Real Madrid and whilst perhaps a more comfortable bench than others, it is no different to sitting on a bench somewhere else. It simply doesn’t improve your match fitness and confidence if you are not playing.

I think we can safely say that Ahamada, Ebiowei and Edouard have not really benefited from their respective loans but having said that we are just as bad. Remember Sanogo when we brought him in from Arsenal. They really offloaded a wage on us there, although perhaps that is all we are doing with the above 3.

He's shown nothing since we bought him. Rumours of a bad attitude. Anyway I expect we will get rid as soon as possible. I doubt we will get a fee for him but hopefully his contract will expire soon.
Ebiowei signed a 5 year contract so has 2.5 years left and is supposedly on a decent wage of £10k a week. He was highly rated when we signed him and we beat off competition from other Prem clubs to sign him, including Man U.

Clearly things haven't progressed as we all hoped and despite flashes to brilliance for the U23 has looked well off the pace.

However, a couple of his loans have not helped him. Hull and Oxford were both in the lower ends of the championship so arguably couldn't carry a flare player. I would have thought a lower league promotion chasing side would be his best option.

If he is to go out again i would send him to maybe a 2nd div club fighting promotion e.g. a Salford. Pay most of his wages on the condition he starts most games.

It doesn’t look good for him. He’s already 21 and can’t cut it at mid table Championship level based on the last two loans. I expect we will offload in the summer as he isn’t going to get anywhere near our fist team squad and doubtful many clubs will want to loan him.

I notice Jack Wells-Morrison was in our U21 team yesterday, as his 6 month loan has ended.

He's played almost every minute for Wealdstone so far this season and hopefully it's been helpful for his development to get so many minutes. Think it would be good for him to go somewhere further up the leagues to challenge him further.

Since JRS ( as well as some other Sheffield United players ) have got injured their form has dipped. He was sort after by a lot of championship teams at the start of the season and Southampton apparently put in a decent bid around this stage. Given United are pushing for promotion JRS has got to be there or there abouts in terms of been a premier league player. Let's hope his injury is minor and he can finish off his loan spell strongly. If he is not quite good enough for Palace we can sell and make a decent profit. We should make sure we have some on sell clauses if we move any of our young players on as i feel there is going to be a chance they improve further.

Yes we have our problems having brought in Kamada but...

and, apparently, they're stuck with him until the end of the season. Schadenfreude.
Getting one over on your rivals.

1. Take points off them.
2. Cost them money in the transfer market, either by pretending to be interested in the same player and driving the price up. Or, loaning them a dud whose sucks up their financial resources.

we're doing well so far now if we can just take 3 points off them.

Alternatively Ayew and Edouard will combine for Leicester and defeat us 1-2 in a couple of weeks time.

It's a funny old game.

😎

Looking forward to see how Imray gets on against Newcastle, assuming he is still at Bromley and we haven't stipulated he cannot play in the Cup. Newcastle are likely to rest Gordon but Barnes will be a stern test.
