Liverpool Match thread?

I agree we need to concentrate on the basics in training this week.

1. Passes. Getting the weight right would help.
2. Strikers practising finding space to the side of the keeper. Not just blasting it in the general direction.
3. Crosses. Particularly from left which has been a material problem and failure this season.
4. Corners. How many years is it since we scored a goal from a corner? I’d laugh if I could stop crying long enough!

We need to rest Wharton who still looks injured and will just do more damage.

I would also rest Mitchell. He’s not at the races this season and is clearly not enjoying it out there. He’s probably over thinking his crosses which are unfortunately going from bad to worse. I’d also wager he’s not comfortable at all playing wing-back but is courageously helping out the team and Glasner’s style of play.

Clyne looks shot and in a daze most of the time. Allowing that ball drift out for a corner was plain weird. I immediately glanced down at his fingers expecting to see him casually holding an 8 inch doobie. Yes.. he does do a few good tackles and at times can be a nuisance to opposition but he’s mostly a liability and is becoming as slow as Ward was towards the end of his career.

Can we recall any players out on loan? Like them all!!

It may be a minority opinion but I'd make that one player of real quality. Andersen to me was alright but not much more. Not particularly dominant in the air, gave away some dodgy free kicks and for all his vaunted long passing ability he didn't actually do it very often. We might miss his organisational qualities but not his tendency to fall over at important moments.
In fact one of the less disspiriting things against Liverpool was that turning over a bob or two on replacing him with the younger Lacroix finally looked definitely like very shrewd business.
