Leeds v Crystal Palace Match Thread

So it's all Parish then.......
Not in my view, but each can draw their own conclusions. Parish is a millionaire who is flanked by 3 billionaires who could more easily invest in that squad. They all agree on the approach, not just Parish (he's said this in the media himself)

Also, making excuses for Parish... club on verge of being bankrupt in 2010, didn't own training facilities, ground or academy, now to established for over ten years in the PL (longest in history), state of the art facilities that we now own, stand finally being developed and will be the first major ground developments since 1994. Not bad from him really, and an FA cup and Community shield to boot for our first major trophies.

Pretty good performance from him over his tenure if looking at it objectively.

I'm as frustrated as any other Palace fan, but it's the whole management group in my view i.e. Blitzer, Harris and Johnson too.

I know the squad is thin. I know the players have played a lot of games but that was a shockingly poor performance. Conceding four bad goals and being out competed. I know OG has been great for us but it’s now a long time since we put together a complete 90 minutes. Maybe Liverpool in the Carabao Cup was the last time. Lots of work to do in the transfer market and on the training pitch.

Out of interest what calibre of player do you think you would get on a one year contract for not a lot of money?

I don't think you are understanding what they are saying.

Look at the Leeds man tonight who scored 2 against us we could have risked getting him on a free.

There was loads of players out there we was lazy with SP too obsessed with this Europa League stuff which was his fault.

We didn't even use our full loan allowance.

We knew DF was leaving at beginning of the year and we wait until the end of transfer window to bring in director of football who again looks like bargain basement pick (Tex is 100% correct about this club if he had never come to the club we wouldn't even have the academy)

Hear Hear.
They let us all down with that abject performance.
Key players missing and my word it showed. We have to be prepared for a slide down the table.

Leeds were better in every single department today. They were hungry for the win and we were well beaten. Players we normally say are ‘brilliant’ were sooo poor. That was a disgraceful performance. I’m trying to think of a positive at the moment - but too upset…

Well that was hands down our worst performance for a long time. Makes Thursdays result doubly frustrating considering we rested tonight's staring XI just to put in that performance. I've not seen us get physically bullied like that for a long time. Fairplay to Leeds they won most duels and scored all 4 goals from set pieces/throw ins. Had Devenney put that header away it could have been an entertaining last few minutes, instead it looks like Wharton picked up a knock and we gave another goal away.

A painful week and one we need to pick ourselves up from very quickly!

Making excuses.

SP runs the club the other billionaires are meaningless they have given him the power to do the day to day running.

The guy is not a good business man which is why he has only made money of the backs of others plus him currently taking out of the club is how he has his wealth.

I am not even going to getting into the shady stuff on how he managed to take over the club with lets not forget others it wasn't just himself.

Tex funded the academy.

What the team did on the pitch is not down to SP that is on those players and OG.

Palace has money but he wont do what all proper business people do take risks and has no ambition this is very clear to see with the constant selling best players and not then spending to replace (Always looking for bargains and even then messing about so we end up losing out on very good targets)

You have forgot that SP was the one that brought those names you listed minus Johnson into the club because he didn't want to fund it himself.

Today we were out-muscled and seemed bemused by the sheer physicality of Leeds.

Last three games: 3 scored, 9 conceded. In the past our defence has been our reliable 'rock' - not anymore.

The quick decline of Mateta and the loss of Eze, Munoz, Sarr and Kamada is beginning to illustrate how threadbare we are.

Mateta simply must be rested (or sold) Nketiah is proving dubious value for money. So we need to find a scorer - but he won't come cheap.

If Guehi should go in January then a replacement definitely needed - we've had enough time to find one.

You'd think with Pino and Wharton, our two more skilful players, we would create a hatful of chances but that has not been so. Overall our lack of ball control in possession is catching us out.

As the Kinnock once famously said: Things can only get better. He was wrong and it's not looking too hopeful for us ether.
