Labour Party politics

In wanting Starmer to quit/be forced to quit it's a case of ' be careful what you wish for '.

Because there's even worse lining up to replace him.

However, this spineless toad of a man doesn't merit the office he holds.

He shouldn't survive the Mandelson affair but if he does the local elections will do for him anyway.
The Yes Minister scenario rings truer ,a few years ago now did you watch it. " The Minister need not worry about that" in other words like mushrooms keep them in the dark and feed them... err.. fertilizer.

It’s timeless - so much of it rings true today
So the conclusion would b that Keir was duped by those rascally civil servants who protect the country after protecting their enhanced pensions, tea breaks and sliding up the promotion ladder an unproductive bloated bureaucracy this post could be endless.

Too soon to assume that.

If we know and accept your comments about civil servants, it must also be acknowledged that Starmer never accepts personal responsibility for anything and is happy to throw others under the bus to save his own skin

Mandelson was a political appointment. The FCO would never in a geological age have appointed a self serving creep like him to the top job. It would have been a diplomat who has risen to the top through decades of hard work and merit.

Mandelson knows where the political bodies are buried not the civil service bodies.

That a civil servant who was not even in situ when the appointment was made has been forced to fall on his sword to protect his political masters who caused the issue is a disgrace.

Starmer should go save, as others say, he will be replaced by someone considerably worse at a time when even bland low grade continuity is preferable.

That explains the multiple car crash that is hindsight, in fact the root of this and many other problems. The civil servants once again came up with the answer that suited.

Why was he even considered for the job? A well known wrong 'un who'd already been sacked twice wouldn't be on many short lists.

Rather like his grandfather who also blighted Labour for a number of years (GLC leader and many other posts) Herbert Morrison he manipulated himself into various jobs, Starmer's advisor was a "friend" of Mandelson and put his name forward, the civil service are a self serving clique and Starmer rather than appoint a Yes Minister character Starmer's Rage seems very genuine he really fell for the worst possible option.

Ultimately, he chose Mendelson and should take responsibility for his own choices. The buck stops with the PM. No one is buying this.

Keith Vaz also got hoofed out twice and yet slimed his odious way back.

Labour seems to attract those who know where the bodies are buried.
They're always stabbing each other in the back. It is exactly like shouty student politics. Which is probably their backgrounds.
Every leader has two or three factions to deal with. I'd expect plenty of Labour to start jumping ship soon but not sure the Greens will want them.

Yes I couldn't agree more both Labour and Conservative parties are broad churches, you couldn't imagine a world where everyone was Willo surely, not everyone can swallow a Thesaurus for breakfast!

Swallow? Consume, Ingest, eat, drink, devour, gulp, gobble, wolf, down, guzzle, swig, swill, imbibe, sip, polish off, bolt, scarf, gorge, lap, quaff or knock back, maybe.
