Labour Party politics

Mandelson's position became untenable, only after incriminating Epstein files were going to be made public.
Mandelson knew these documents existed, and you can bet Starmer did. Putting the precautionary approach of "innocent until proved guilty", to one side, this has got to critically damage Starmer. If it weren't for other hot news topics keeping this from the front pages, Starmer would be packing his bags. (just my opinion)
And the gut-wrenching stuff, is that Mandelson's connections/activities were known about before he was gifted the dream job of Ambassador to the USA. I also reckon Mandelson got a hefty pay-off and final salary pension. Mandelson should probably be in jail.
For what?

I want the Labour leadership to stop lying about being centralist....because they aren't really......and to start being honest about their politics and represent their base.

I've said it for years, parties should represent their party members who work for them....not monied interests and 'focus groups'.

The real Labour party is far closer to the likes of Steely (said without malice) and Corbyn and at the moment it's found itself caught inbetween political worlds pleasing no one......and thus it's completely unsuited to governing.

Authenticity above half truths and lies.

Starmer represents the dishonesty stain hanging over the Labour party. They can't win anything while that remains.
Labour's base is collapsing for this reason.

The Tories can't attract flies.

Could the next general election produce a Reform government with the Lib Dems as HM Opposition?

If I was going to guess, firstly I can't see Starmer staying as leader before any general election was called.

I think Labour would go with a female PM.....someone half bangable like Bridget Phillipson.

I could see Labour calling for an early election with her before worsening economic news down the pipe.

That's how I think they are going to play it. At the moment it just looks very bleak for them.

With Reform......I'm getting the impression that Farage is trying to recreate the Tory party and is expecting a flood of Tory MPs in the last year of a Labour government....expect that flood of Tory MPs once Labour call the election.

I agree with you, the Tory party have dithered and buried their head in the sand and are heading for wipe out.

Their only hope is that Labour, LibDems and the Greens join together to defeat Reform, which would mean that Farage would have to keep the Tories alive in a pack to maximise the vote.

We have 2 news stories on the BBC web-page this week, about a racist murder from 30 years ago in SouthEast London. So i guess its difficult to prioritise trivial stuff like the Peter Mandelson story ? or the unimportant 7/7 bombings ?

i suppose the BBC editors know best ?

anyhooo......Labour Party Politics. The gift that never stops giving.
