Labour:
Pissing off the left with their Palestine Action stuff.
Pissing off the working class with higher prices.
Pissing off the middle classes with higher taxes.
Pissing off the old with cutting benefits.
Pissing off anyone needing treatment on the NHS.
Pissing off the right with immigration.
Pissing off business with higher contributions
Pissing off homeowners with higher council tax and poorer service
Pissing off renters by doing nothing.
Pissing off first time buyers with lack of house construction.
Pissing off students and their parents with an onus on foreign fee paying students and lack of affordable accommodation.
I realised that I've pissed myself and everyone else of with a list that could do with several other points.
I figured the only people not getting pissed off with Labour are likely Islamic, newly arrived asylum seekers, the long term unemployed, particularly those in housing authority housing or perhaps the rich, rather ironically. There has been no concerted effort to stop tax evasion by the very richest. If there's such a thing as a Muslim block vote, it almost looks like Labour want that. I believe that we'll stop seeing the trans agenda in education, not to placate the right, but to placate the more vociferous religious element. Is Khan (pardon me) being groomed for future Labour glory? I've thought it for a long time.
Obviously I really dislike Starmer (the dishonesty even more than his politics) and I view the Labour party as even more incompetent that the Tory shower we had.....Still, everytime I see Sunak I cringe.....Hunt, Johnson and Cameron even worse.
However, I do recognise the almost impossible situation they walked into.....what can't be denied though is that they have only made it worse. Though it has to be said that it's their own MPs who won't let them do anything radical......kind of ironic given the massive majority they have.
Starmer's obsessional preference for minorities (being left wing and gay/bisexual probably accounts for it) is going to hurt Labour......He tries to hide it but only because he knows how badly it plays out. Personally I think the Southport situation and its consequences his reaction will stick to him all the way through.....He may have delighted the Owen Jones' types but he killed himself with many of the white working class.
But it's one of the few things he's been consistent on in his career.....For Starmer his 'out group preference' is as important to him as being anti EU is to Corybn.
