Ha, not all. I have mentioned Dan Jarvis before. He'd walk the next election. A shoe in for Deputy, but...
As Mizzz Harriet Har-person said yesterday, the new Dep MUST be a woman; and she MUST be Northern.
An inclusivity Dep will appeal to the Metropolitan elite, but few else.
It pains me to say this, but we are still voting for authoritative males. Thatcher was an outlier, but her voice dropped octaves to improve her image of "strength". The current Tory incumbent will see her party wiped clean partly because of her.
Reform are not just riding the wave of populism, but are led by 2 white males saying f*** you to "cancel"... and the public are loving them for it, despite relentless media negativity (and the fact that they are genuinely awful).
In the US, a poll just made of a "what if" Trump stood against Obama today, Obama trounces the Orange One by 11 points. But DT pulls way clear of both Kamila Harris and Hillary Clinton. This is despite every recent political US drama casting Angela Bassett as the president. Most voters are boomers or late gen X (i.e. not youngsters who see no issue in black actors playing warriors at the Battle of Hastings). Those who vote still want men to lead.
A Starmer/Jarvis ticket would play very well to the voting electorate. It won't happen. Inclusivity will trump electoral success and Labour will have blown off their own feet with both barrels.
Again.
