Labour Party politics

You wait. He only said there is a lot he agrees with. But sorry, I fail to see what good a policy of paying these illegals £3,000 to feck off when they pay a third of that to come here and get a hotel with free food and bills compared to their s*** holes. Do you see the flaw and hole in her policy? Plus of course none of it will probably go through anyway.

Reform will get nowhere if they try and work within the systems.

Blair and the Tories after him set up this system expressly to make the work of 'Reform' difficult.

Farage would need to take a metaphorical flamethrower to a lot of it and is he the man to do that?

I doubt it.....Even if he wanted to I don't think he'll get the kind of majority he'd need.

He'll will do some and the left and centre will scream like he's a mid century Austrian painter (like they do for anyone more right wing than Rory Stewart) but in reality it'll be little more than warmed up Thatcherism, that won't scare most horses......it'll be nice nostalgia for some but it won't really solve any of the real problems the social and neo liberals have left us with.

Regardless anyone who is a social conservative has a duty to vote Reform.

A valid point. Now whether the Court system actually allows any of these proposals to go through remains to be seen but what she is proposing is at least making a go of tackling the issues.

And for us Far-Right types, this also shows what we need to fear most. Because she has been able to do this due to her being a Muslim. Makes her immune from the usual left-wing bleating. Political Isalm is going to become a thing and it will be effectively given far more lee-way on the authoritarian stuff than anything the Right can come up with.

The progressive left have effectively hamstrung themselves with their phobia about any and anything that might have them labeled 'racist'. So they will just play along with it rather than opposing it.

Dangerous moment for us and should not be underestimated.
Thought crossed my mind too. And then this…

Without experience!

You kind of have a point whilst also missing it.

Labour USED to have a great local set up, as was evidenced by what Corybn achieved in 2017. But that has been decimated ever since. In 2024, on the back of possibly the s***tiest Tory government EVER, Starmer still managed to get less votes than Corybn had in 2019. And by Labour setting out their stall as they have today, they probably scuppered any chance of an anti-Reform alliance with the Greens and Lib Dems because the price to pay would be literally tearing up all the legislation being supposedly due to be delivered.

What Labour, (and the Tories) do have is far better local data in terms of the right doors to knock on to get voters out which Reform, by dint of their being the new kids on the block, lack.

But Reform have momentum and much like the 'Leave' vote was underestimated, and to some degree the Johnson vote in 2019, was also missed by many pollsters and I suspect that if you think Labour can see off Reform based solely on its activists on the ground, then I believe you are delusional.

Labour knows where to find the few extra votes that might be needed if its neck and neck but the polling seems to indicate that not only are Reform winning but doing so by pretty significant margins.

Plus Labour cannot rely on the Islamic postal votes either. Suspect that will be hoovered by the Muslims Indy's.

Islamists almost always come to power on the back of pledges of restoring law and order. And of being extremely socially conservative. The Left have literally championed a specific group of people who are the very antithesis of what they proclaim to stand for.

All because they get a buzz out of being able to proclaim themselves 'down with the brown'. LOL. Its political suicide but they are to cucked to see it.

Polls on new populist parties often jolt like an electric shock,by-elections are noted for their eventual imbalance compared to a GE I am not saying that Labour will win but my money is on the old parties squeezing out the new ( what am I saying bunch of old fossils!) kids on the block. Human instinct is to stay with the tried and trusted that they know.

I'm pinching that! It will have a new meaning tho'.

You mean like Brexit? Or the Redwall collapsing in 2019? Even in 2024 Labour polled less votes than in 2019. The entire point is that people are sick to death of the 'tried & trusted'. There is zero faith in the 'tried & trusted'. It's breaking down in almost any and every aspect of our political system.

Yep. I don’t trust her thought tbh.

Neither do I. But she is probably the smartest person on the Labour front bench. And has grasped the nettle on this issue, at least in terms of what she wants to portray.

And will potentially be able to make a difference. Question is why have got to the stage that a Muslim is the one to do this? And potentially the only one able to do so. After 14 years of a supposedly Conservative regime?

Eric Lubbock. 14th March 1962 by election swing!

The guy's right.

There are answers but he's right to assume it won't happen.

It should never be forgotten that the decline he speaks of was started under Blair, continued by Brown and then initially lied about by Cameron and then enthusiastically continued, accelerated and even celebrated by later Tory PMs.

Watch this. She’s actually going to increase immigration by hoodwinking the British people. The study and education status of one family member is one. The other is encouraging one family member to work in the legal market and not the non black market. Then their whole family can be a citizen. I knew she wasn’t to be trusted. A Muslim deciding the future of Britain. Anyone who backs this woman is an idiot…

As I have been saying, this is all lip service. Don’t be fooled

Actually, they are not. In fact, they are doing all they can to reverse that image. That it remains a view entrenched suggests they are trying to turn around a super tanker with their bare hands.

Two achievements under Labour today firstly inflation has dropped to 3.6% down by .2% and the government has decided to increase the deposit protection scheme this means that money you have in a bank or Building Society is now protected up to £120,000 lifted from the previous £85,000 this will kick in on 1st December. This supports people's trust in the financial system.

So after having tried to push savers out of cash ISAs they are now making it " safer " to save cash in bank or building society?

So still above the 2% target then.

The increase in the deposit protection scheme is hardly an achievement when you consider that the protected amount hasn’t been changed for nearly 9 years. It’s merely keeping in line with inflation.

Still, I imagine Reeves will be clutching at at least one of these straws next week.

A Brexit benefit?!

The slight fall in inflation is not a "budget boost" for Rachel Reeves as has been suggested.Inflation did not fall by as much as economists had predicted. Higher than expected inflation is not a budget boost.
