A valid point. Now whether the Court system actually allows any of these proposals to go through remains to be seen but what she is proposing is at least making a go of tackling the issues.

And for us Far-Right types, this also shows what we need to fear most. Because she has been able to do this due to her being a Muslim. Makes her immune from the usual left-wing bleating. Political Isalm is going to become a thing and it will be effectively given far more lee-way on the authoritarian stuff than anything the Right can come up with.

The progressive left have effectively hamstrung themselves with their phobia about any and anything that might have them labeled 'racist'. So they will just play along with it rather than opposing it.

Labour USED to have a great local set up, as was evidenced by what Corybn achieved in 2017. But that has been decimated ever since. In 2024, on the back of possibly the s***tiest Tory government EVER, Starmer still managed to get less votes than Corybn had in 2019. And by Labour setting out their stall as they have today, they probably scuppered any chance of an anti-Reform alliance with the Greens and Lib Dems because the price to pay would be literally tearing up all the legislation being supposedly due to be delivered.

What Labour, (and the Tories) do have is far better local data in terms of the right doors to knock on to get voters out which Reform, by dint of their being the new kids on the block, lack.

But Reform have momentum and much like the 'Leave' vote was underestimated, and to some degree the Johnson vote in 2019, was also missed by many pollsters and I suspect that if you think Labour can see off Reform based solely on its activists on the ground, then I believe you are delusional.

Labour knows where to find the few extra votes that might be needed if its neck and neck but the polling seems to indicate that not only are Reform winning but doing so by pretty significant margins.

Plus Labour cannot rely on the Islamic postal votes either. Suspect that will be hoovered by the Muslims Indy's.

The increase in the deposit protection scheme is hardly an achievement when you consider that the protected amount hasn’t been changed for nearly 9 years. It’s merely keeping in line with inflation.

The slight fall in inflation is not a "budget boost" for Rachel Reeves as has been suggested.Inflation did not fall by as much as economists had predicted. Higher than expected inflation is not a budget boost.
