Jørgen Strand Larsen

If there was a choice between JP or JSL who would you choose? Larsen all day long for me
Assuming JP does go for 30m we have a younger upgrade who'll do well here in my opinion
Love JP and Ollie for last year but both want out and the longer they stay the longer the rot will set in.
Time to spring the ejector seat Parish
If the JP deal falls through we might end up with JPSL

I understand but what exactly do fans want? Parish gets it in the neck for not investing money from transfer sales back into the squad. When he does invest it back then he gets it in the neck.
He should invest into the squad wisely,he goes for players at the Poundland end of the market and fans get very frustrated with these duds.

But he isn’t an upgrade is he?
We bought Nketiah as a younger model of a striker and got ripped off there and to pay anything like this money for Larsen is criminal. I can’t stand all this ‘ well he hasn’t had the service’ - what makes anyone thinks he going to get better service at Palace?
It’s a massive waste of money. Our recent record of purchases has been very poor, desperation buys.
It’s better not to spend if he is the only option.get Nketiah back playing and tell him to start earning his £100k a week

Remember him well . Pretty sure it was him who scored the "goal" that went through the side netting and not between the sticks but the ref and lino gave it.
Brilliant. Makes up for the Clive Allen free kick at Coventry. Nearly took Mick Coop (standing on the post)'s head off, hit the back station, came out again and the ref didn't give it. Years later, Coop told me he'd never witnessed a better struck free kick in his life. A clear goal. I asked him why he didn't come clean. His reply was predictable.

Without some signings now, suggest we could very well end up in the Championship!!

I think he is an upgrade on JP. Good scoring record last season with Wolves. JP wants out and JSL wants to come by the looks of things and a few years younger. Maybe Newcastle's failed 55m bid last year turned his head too and like JP his form dipped with all the interest in him. Agree about Eddie though, who I think if played in the right position as a CF he would score goals. But europe starts again soon and we need a strong squad and with the sale of JP for 30m JSL is good business for the extra 15m

Consistently good centre forwards are rare. That’s why Harry Kane sold for £82 million with a year left on his contract. That sort of fee drags the fee up for any striker who has a decent season. Liverpool paid £100 million for a striker who had one good season and £80 million for a kid! Unfortunately £48 million is the going rate for a young striker who has scored goals and £30 million is the going rate for a 29 year old with a dodgy knee. Time will tell if either is a bargain compared with Isaac .

Is Steve reading player reports from last season? Johnson scored 17 goals then, Larsen 14. Neither has been able to get much first team action this season. His info must be out of date!

I can’t see a sale of Mateta to Milan going smoothly. They’ll try every trick in the book plus a couple from an old scroll to knock the price down by 10m. I hope Parish has some blood pressure pills to hand.

Total waste of money, leave well alone!

We desperately need a new striker, but window closes tomorrow.
Wake up,SP and smell the coffee.
Perhaps an inevitable defeat this afternoon to an inform Forest will finally see some action before it is too late.
He needs to buy the coffee, not just smell it!

I'm pretty sure they have decided to spend 40 million ish on Larsen. Watching the match today and seeing how toothless we were I can understand why we might. Huge gamble obvs but we have sold Guehi, Eze and probably Mateta for around 120 million so the money is there.

Whether a likely deadline day Chelsea loanee, Pinhead, and Larsen for about 70 million is anywhere close to like for like is extremely debatable but it would have been a hard ask to replace those 3 diamonds, even with Dougie in charge. We have added Johnson and Guessand as well so I suppose not that much money is left either after Larsen in reality. At least we will have some attacking options if we do add Larsen.

I know we'd all do things differently with 120 million quid (I'd buy Sainsbury's out and sign Sterling and Wilson on free transfers myself) but each to their own. Larsen may surprise us all and make us forget Mateta like Lacroix made us forget Andersen.

This is getting bloody scarey now.
What do the powers that be at Palace see in this bloke that most others cannot?
I do stand by a previous statement though, he will score the winner against the tesco bags and that my friends will be his only Palace goal!

That's a great option sell Mateta, bring nobody in and ask Nketiah to play whilst injured.
JSL may not be an upgrade, but Mateta doesn't want to play for us, he's got his head turned after being picked for France. Rather have a player who wants to play for the club, than someone who now thinks we are beneath him.

I’ve never been sadder about a signing than this one. This is the worst piece of business I’ve ever seen from any club. One goal this season, from the penalty spot, and we are smashing our transfer record to sign him. Just truly awful value. This guy is Conor Wickham in disguise…

£30m for Nketiah, £35m for Brennan Johnson, £48m for Grand Larceny… There is simply no way anyone will ever pay more than those amounts to buy them off us. So why are we paying these transfer fees? Who is agreeing these deals? Just extraordinary.
😁 nicely done

I feel we just have to get behind if and when he signs, the bloke has been playing in a wolves team that couldn't create a mess in a nappy of they were wearing it let alone a goal scoring chance for him this year.

He will get chances at us, and you only have to look at his form last year 14 goals in that wolves team.

Do we not all remember how bad JP was all he had was a purple patch that lasted 1 whole calendar year in what 4 years.

And 1 goal in open play in 11 matches.

JSL is 4 years younger has plenty of time to settle in, need to get behind the team and him, and let's also be honest in this day and age £40/£50 mill is the going rate now for a striker for a club on our level
