I feel we just have to get behind if and when he signs, the bloke has been playing in a wolves team that couldn't create a mess in a nappy of they were wearing it let alone a goal scoring chance for him this year.
He will get chances at us, and you only have to look at his form last year 14 goals in that wolves team.
Do we not all remember how bad JP was all he had was a purple patch that lasted 1 whole calendar year in what 4 years.
And 1 goal in open play in 11 matches.
JSL is 4 years younger has plenty of time to settle in, need to get behind the team and him, and let's also be honest in this day and age £40/£50 mill is the going rate now for a striker for a club on our level

His mum might.Everyone will get behind him, more or out of hope than anything else.
Big difference between JPM and JSL is price. With JP it was always a bit of a gamble, and if he did well we'd make money. Which if the press is to be believed, we'll have doubled our money. Even for a 28 year old.
JSL is so overpriced. There is slim to little chance of us even breaking even on a future sale, let alone a any more. Does anyone think he has the potential to be a 100m player in the next 4 years?

It’s true you won’t get much for less than 40 mill .I feel like he will thrive under Glasner. Look at how many chances Mateta gets each game, he did have one of the highest xG's in the league in November/December. Strand Larsen would have a better conversion rate than Mateta this season 100%.
No one knows what's coming in the summer so it's hard to tell if he will be successful in a new system under a new manager. Hodgson used his striker as a hold up player to eventually play in one of our fast wingers (Wilf). Therefore our striker never had a good goal scoring record because they weren't fed alot of opportunities.
You will not find a reliable, consistent striker with Premier League experience at 24 years old for less than £40m. People need to be realistic about the money behind this deal.
Larsen is an inconsistent (putting it kindly) striker who is costing way over 40m. Thiago, also 24, had very little PL experience before this season and he has outscored Larsen 15-1 in the league this yearI feel like he will thrive under Glasner. Look at how many chances Mateta gets each game, he

I didn't know news reader needed a medical.Sky reporting Larsen has completed his medical.
Yikes!!Milan strike me as time-wasters or possibly grease-balls trying to get someone on the cheap.

What's the story with ffp. In December, posters were saying our shareholders could not dump more cash in without selling. So if Mateta doesn't go do we still by this bloke?
And then they went an overspent on Woltemade and Wissa (who only had a year left on his contract) so maybe not the best club to be judging how much we should spend on a striker. And for those saying he must be good as Newcastle offered £55m on deadline day in the summer. Give your head a wobble as it was deadline day and they had just received £135m for Isak. Therefore whoever they went after, that players' club would have been well aware they were desperate whilst holding £135m in the back pocket and Wolves said right ok, give us £60m and he is yours but Newcastle (knowing he wasnt worth anything like £55m) pulled out, much to the relief of their fans.
If he passes, I presume we're no longer interested??Sky reporting Larsen has completed his medical.

Maybe the payment terms are good? So its a guaranteed 43m but not all upfront.
Trying to persuade myself that this is good value. League goals:
20/21 - 9 goals
21/22 - 14 goals
22/23 - 5 goals
23/24 - 13 goals
24/25 - 14 goals
25/26 - 1 goal
