Great if so, welcome Canvot but if they let Guehi go and Canvot is the only replacement... then the released statement by Parish and the club is no more than spin to try and placate the fans, look at the timing.

We are weaker than at the start of the window.

I hope i'm wrong and 2 more attacking players and another quality prem ready defender are joining.

If not Parish and the billionaires have shown their hand, we are following the Tottenham model at the next level down.

They are billionaires shaking down the wallets of the ordinary man and woman and not investing and giving back if that's the case.

Sorry to be so negative, i've been trying not to believe the above but i think it's an unavoidable truth, many exits vs a few incoming.

No you are spot on. Selling Guehi and bringing in a 19 years as replacement is a joke. We were already at least one centre half short
 
2 hours to finalise the Guehi deal after Liverpool have submitted a deal sheet. That means the deal isn’t yet done albeit Liverpool expect it to go through. Oh to be a fly on the wall at Palace! Unless we’ve submitted a sneaky deal sheet for a tried and tested centre back you have to assume Glasner and Parish are having a set to.
Also reports suggesting Glasner is pleading with Guehi. It would be funny if Parish signs the deal but Guehi decides to stay. We can but hope!

Replacing Guehi (if he goes) and Eze is a hellva tough ask. Those players are top of the pile.

I think Pino and Uche are both very impressive additions.

I think this Canvot has potential but how well he does and when he does it remains to be seen.

If Guehi goes and we don't have a suitable replacement, we still have a loan possibility.

Also it shouldn't be forgotten that Lerma can also play as a more than capable Centre Half.

Difference is we played only 2 CBs, expectations lower and no European games to contend with

Ideally Canvot will play in cup games, conference league and off the bench in pl games to get experience and used to pl football

Firstly i do have time and respect for Parish, he has achieved more than any other chairman at Palace.

Your quote of ‘obviously wouldn’t’ I challenge. A deal sheet was completed and it appears it took Glasner to threat to leave to get SP to pull the plug. So reading it Parish was seriously considering selling Guehi without an experienced replacement

Fair comment on Parish.

We have the best manager in our history, I was getting concerned at the hypothetical of losing Guehi (partly because a LFC fan smugly messaged me earlier to say thanks for the low cost signing).

Let's hope this is a sign and we build with the billionaires backing Parish's vision for the main stand and the club.

We could truly compete, Parish is still building.

Or.......the replacement they were trying to line up (Gomes, Pavlovic etc) wasn't going to work.
