Firstly i do have time and respect for Parish, he has achieved more than any other chairman at Palace.

Your quote of ‘obviously wouldn’t’ I challenge. A deal sheet was completed and it appears it took Glasner to threat to leave to get SP to pull the plug. So reading it Parish was seriously considering selling Guehi without an experienced replacement
I doubt we’ll ever know what happened in the end. Piecing together click bait is far from an exact science but it would appear that Glasner, Guehi, and Parish were involved in the decision. I’m sure emotions were running high, but I think they reached the right decision in the end. Let’s celebrate, show our appreciation for our captain, and the way he has handled the whole thing, and move on now the window has closed.

Said who?????????????

Darren Bent on talksport, must be true.

Or.......the replacement they were trying to line up (Gomes, Pavlovic etc) wasn't going to work.
It’s obviously valid to question the strength of the rumour. But don’t you see the strong possibility of it being true seeing as the deal sheet was sent in and there was no senior, experienced replacement available, on his way, signing, nothing? As Parish knew there was no replacement, why did the deal get agreed and the deal sheet go through while Glasner was always against it?

Maybe he said if this deal goes through now and we can see there is no replacement, then he will review/think about his position, maybe tonight.

Sorry forgot you had all the answers. I never said anyone said it, it’s my interpretation same as you have yours. As neither of us actually knows

Yea agree we got there in the end. Didn’t enjoy today

Fair comment on Parish.

We have the best manager in our history, I was getting concerned at the hypothetical of losing Guehi (partly because a LFC fan smugly messaged me earlier to say thanks for the low cost signing).

Let's hope this is a sign and we build with the billionaires backing Parish's vision for the main stand and the club.

We could truly compete, Parish is still building.
Hope you messaged back with a "this aged well"

Of course its a possibility. But I also 100% believe that Parish is an idiot, and isn't going to purposely leave us short, or completely hack off OG.

Yesterday all the outlets were reporting that Igor was the replacement for Guehi.

This morning Sky reported that Igor, changed his mind and chose WH because he was worried about playing time at Palace. Hence he was never going to be the Guehi replacement.

So the alternative theory that is circling is that the plan was to get Pavlovic and Igor to replace Guehi. Deal sheet went in to give Milan some more time to source a replacement, which was ironically rumoured to be Gomez. Which Liverpool didnt sanction, so the house of cards came down.

I assume you meant Parish isn’t an idiot 😂

For me the concerning thing was Parish was seemingly prepared to push on with Guehi's sale despite us having no replacement. Now I get it that he is not just responsible for financially supporting the manager and supplementing the playing staff but also responsible for balancing the books. I may be wrong but the figures reported we brought in around £70m (after paying QPR's percentage) from the sales of Eze and Edouard and spent around £68m this summer inc Sosa. With other expenditure we dont know about we may have been sailing close to the wind as its obvious our investors dont want to put much in. Parish may have felt he needed that £35m. We may well find out in January that there is no money because Guehi did not go. But...You have to see it from Glasner's point of view. He was promised a replacement independant of the Guehi sale. He was promised one in July. It never came. Then Parish obviously sweet talked him by saying we'll sign two defenders so that Marc can go. When only one arrives (and he's only 19) Glasner had every right to say no. I'm not standing for this. Sell Guehi and you're looking for a new manager because I wont work with one arm tied behind my back.
I think the relationship will be strained for a bit but Glasner does not seem like one to hold a grudge. Hopefully we can all move on from this.
Personally I think we'll hit the same problem in January though. If anyone comes in with an offer for Guehi then I feel sure (especially if we are still in al;l competitions) that Glasner will say not without a worthy replacement
