The weaknesses are obvious. It’s full of holes that allow either side to blame the other for a breakdown. Which Israel are almost certain to do because the right wing who control Netanyahu won’t settle until they occupy Gaza.

The other major weakness is any “Board of Peace” headed by Trump will be dysfunctional from the outset.

It's certainly a step in the right direction to have a peace deal on the table that does not involve the forced displacement of Palestinians, but I think the above is a fairly realistic summary.

I'm not holding my breath but certainly hopeful this brings about an end to the killing.

But considering Israel tried to kill their negotiators obviously there are going to be trust issues on how this is implemented. With caution and a requirement for detail and security.

Personally I think what Israel did in Qatar was outrageous whatever one thinks of the Palestinians and even Qatar.

I think it's a good deal and I have my fingers crossed on it.

If it was okay for the US under Obama to go into Pakistan to neutralize a terrorist (Bin laden) it's certainly okay for Israel to go into Qatar to do the same.

If kind of introduces the suggestion that this offered deal itself is a ruse to get Hamas leaders to gather......Well ok, but when lies are used in warfare to kill people it doesn't present as 'ok' to me.

Both countries are under attack by bombings but the difference is the Ukraine government puts out air raid sirens and directs its population to the underground network for safety. What they are offering is Hamas (if genuine), 'safe passage' out of there essentially.

Everyone and their dog knows that Israel have decided to take Gaza and no one is going to stop them.

In effect it's leave or everybody dies who we perceive as a threat and a whole lot caught in the way as well.

It's the least bad option for the Gazans and I don't see it being better. But if agreed to it must be carried out as stated.

'gradual withdrawal' is purely a guise for permanent occupation, he just drags it out forever.
