Israel v Hamas

Erm, what's it got to do with you? Why don't you add your views on the conflict instead of trying to s*** stir like you attempted to do with me and Spindle on the 1861 topic?
What's it got to do with me?

I've been reading the comments on this thread with interest, so why shouldn't I comment? An attack on me for that is uncalled for.

Now you are calling me out as a sh*t - stirrer for defending you against an unwarranted spiteful comment.

Is this the style of your book? Not impressed by the dialect, no wonder it hasn't sold.
How spiteful. What is the need for that?

-------------------------------------------

Blimey! You're slagging me off for that?!

You, sir, are no gentleman, it's clear.

Do you not see that you’ve manoeuvred yourself into a position where you can essentially tell yourself that anything you don’t like is either Hamas propaganda or reported by an activist with an agenda so you can ignore it.

It’s extremely intellectually dishonest.
Gaza.webp

I've already explained this, but will do so again. Real casualty figures are probably midway between both sides' estimates. Some reports from the region will turn out true - but we don't know yet - and some reports true as verified by Israel. Israel has admitted to multiple mistakes and operational failures and there are 70 ongoing investigations. If soldiers are proven to have done wrong, they deserve to be punished and will be. This is what tends to happen with Western democracies.

Hamas is a death cult that hides in tunnels, uses schools, hospitals and mosques as weapon depots and films its own war crimes as credible sources. The group censors and threatens to kill journalists and humanitarian workers. That doesn't mean that Israel can be excused for everything that happens in this war and time will tell after investigations and the due process that will inevitably follow.

However, a Reporters Without Borders statement in 2023 said: "Hamas and the other Palestinian political groups in Gaza continue to intimidate journalists in the Strip, especially if they are suspected of working with foreign or Israeli media."

Human Rights Watch has reported that Palestinian authorities, including Hamas, routinely arrest and abuse journalists who are critical of them.

During the 2014 Gaza war, multiple journalists said they withheld reports on Hamas launching rockets from civilian areas as they feared retaliation.

I don't understand why you consistently WANT to believe what comes out of Gaza in support of Hamas despite the coverage being clearly censored?

It's not about what anyone wants to believe - it's about what is true. You reject every source of information that doesn't come from Israel.

You accuse every aid organisation, governing body, journalist, doctor, media outlet or academic who offers information critical of Israel of being an activist, of being biased, of hating jews etc. etc.

On the balance of evidence, I think it's screamingly obvious to anyone being honest with themselves what is going on in Gaza - despite a worryingly delayed reaction, pretty much all Western governments are starting to distance themselves and criticise Israel's conduct, as are many journalists and media companies, even those who have historically been supportive. Why do you think this is? Because everyone just hates Israel?

It's not Hamas' narrative versus Israel's at this point - it's pretty much the whole developed world's narrative versus Israel, and I'm genuinely flabbergasted that anyone is still buying the s*** they put out.

The only way you can maintain your position is to reject any and every piece of information which doesn't come from Israel and suggest that all of it comes from Hamas, even when it doesn't.

No one WANTs to believe anything in support of Hamas. We are NOT on Hamas’ side.

It’s not Hamas we are believing, it’s the ever increasing number of witness statements, footage and reports from aid agencies, doctors and charities on the ground that are harder not to believe. You can’t just glibly dismiss them as ‘activists’ forever.

Please re-read my post for my take. I never said they were activists. I never said forever.

So conclusions only after Israel have conducted investigations on Israel's conduct and told you what Israel found out?

And you think that is disproving the suggestion that you only accept one source of information?

We are going around in circles. I think I've made it quite clear what I think and it's not how you are interpreting it.
